"Big things have small beginnings." So says Michael Fassbender's character in Prometheus . He was referring to a blob of alien goo that would go on to spawn the monster that drives the Alien series, but he just as easily could've been talking about Radiohead. Like that daub of black goo, Radiohead's origins were inauspicious. The band - consisting throughout its existence of Thom Yorke (vocals, guitar, piano, electronics), Jonny Greenwood (lead guitar, various other instruments), Colin Greenwood (bass, synths), Ed O'Brien (guitar, backing vocals), and Phil Selway (drums) - formed in 1985 in the music rehearsal [...]

Via the Vine : Electronic musician Flying Lotus --aka Steve Ellison--is no stranger to the world of Radiohead . Not only did Thom Yorke guest on the producer's critical-fave of last year, Cosmogramma , the Radiohead frontman took Ellison on tour as a guest of his then-touring side project Atoms For Peace. Flying Lotus' influence hangs heavy over the "free jazz, cut-n-paste" approach of Radiohead's most recent album The King of Limbs , and just last week, Yorke turned up at a club in downton LA to mix side-by-side with Ellison. Filed under: News Samir Hussein, Getty Images / Dave M. Benett, Getty Images Few bands polarise opinion in quite the way Radiohead do. Indeed, even their own fans are arguing among themselves as to whether their latest album, 'The King of Limbs,' is something one needs to live with for a while or whether it's simply the sound of sequencers falling down the stairs. So while the debate shows no signs of abating, [...]

The King of Limbs from Radiohead came out early last week to much hoopla. Throw in some snazzy dance moves from Thom Yorke, which got parodied and applauded by many, and that certainly doesn’t hurt your buzz. There has been...

I'm a big Radiohead fan. My AIM screenname (ugh) was "wadiohead" (triple, possibly quadruple ugh). The King of Limbs is very good. And even though I've listened to it a lot, I'm not done processing it yet. Not ready to say where it fits in the Pantheon of Radiohead. But I'm leaning towards this being their least successful post- Pablo Honey . Which may or may not be true. And certainly doesn't mean I don't think it's very good: didn't I just say that? What I am ready to say, with some [...]

Ok, though we usually write about new songs, Radiohead is an exception (as they are in every respect). Blah blah blah internet release blah blah blah super innovative packaging ideas blah blah game changers blah blah blah. Now let's talk about the music. Danny : I wasn't expecting something like King Of Limbs , but then again, Radiohead are just an unpredictable band. I like it - I think a few more listens and I'll probably consider it a classic. That's usually how it works with Radiohead , you listen [...]

Hey, maybe while you're out in the woods you guys could...you know...find a GUITAR!? MAYBE!? I was taking my lunch break today, reading that abysmal article in the LA Weekly about Godspeed You! Black Emperor (really, Weekly? Post-Rock hasn't been relevant in almost a decade and you still can't seem to come up with a definition of it?), when I started getting a bunch of Tweets asking if I'd heard the new Radiohead album yet. Uh…why should I care about a new Radiohead album? They lost me with Hail [...]

It's out a day early. Speculation remains whether it was released early on purpose or it leaked. Either way, it's out- and IT RULES. The [...]
