As Weezer gear up for the release of their eighth studio album , it looks like the band has found a new home with Epitaph Records . Bad Religion guitarist/Epitaph head honcho Brett Gurewitz broke the news of the signing on his Twitter late Wednesday night, followed by a confirming tweet from the Weezer frontman himself. Weezer released their new album, Raditude , just last year and, even though the reviews were mediocre, fans of the band could care less based on the video footage. Following yesterday's bus crash Weezer have canceled the remainder of their December Raditude tour, which left singer Rivers Cuomo in hospital with three cracked ribs. His wife, while initially treated for injuries, has been released from the hospital.Their child, tucked away safely in her crib, escaped unscathed. MUSIC NEWS - RIVERS CUOMO , lead singer of alt rockers, Weezer was injured in a Sunday morning tour bus crash on the New York State Thruway. The bus skidded on ice, struck a guide rail and slid into a ditch, police said. Cuomo and a band assistant, Ms Sarah Kim , were taken to an area hospital (St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam, NY) following the accident in upstate New York, near the town of Glen (approx 40 miles west of Albany). Rivers Cuomo is either really into infomercials or is a huge fan of Sky-Mall (and who isn't?!). One product in particular has apparently piqued his interest. He and the rest of the Weezer gang have become the #1 advocate for Snuggies. They like the snugglie blankie so much so, Cuomo recently performed in a custom leopard-print Snuggie in CA and now they have decided to put their own fleecie product out there dubbed the " Wuggie . I'm going to start this blog entry out by saying that (a) previous to reviewing Weezer's new album, 'Raditude', I had (b) a very minimal knowledge of the band's back catalog, and that (c) my view of the band was luke-warm at best. Keeping this in mind, I'm writing this review as a person who previously didn't like Weezer that much, listened to 'Raditude' and became a fan because of it.

The new Weezer album is practically unlistenable. I did some searching around the blogs and I am not the only one to feel this way. What happened to this once favorite band of ours? Ever since Pinkerton, I've tried to convince myself the subsequent albums were good. They haven't been. After listening to Raditude , I am convinced Rivers Cuomo is the cop (the FBI agent, the NSA spy, etc.) so deep undercover he can no longer tell the difference between the person he is and the person he is pretending to be.
