January 20-21 saw the postponed Storm Festival ( from February 11-12 due to persistent rains ) taking their moniker very seriously, as they took Coorg by storm. The fest was headlined by bands Indian Ocean , The Raghu Dixit Project , Leslie Lewis and Swarathma , along with DJs Richard Durand, Judge Jules and Henrik B (the rest of the lineup is here ). Storm festival, which was slated to take place on November 11 and 12, got postponed due to heavy rains . They have now announced their new domestic lineup for the January 20 and 21 dates. The recently concluded Bacardi NH7 Weekender saw much happiness during, and a plethora of photo albums flooding everybody's Faceboo k feeds after. In fact, the festival saw such a great response that someone claimed it even "rocked Mumbai" . Amidst all of that, local graphic designer Sukrit Nagaraj, also an aspiring photographer, clicked some photos at the festival. The Dewarist Stage with its layer of cushions and beds across the grass started out laid-back and moved into arm-waving, body-hopping merriment. Bangalore folk rock act The Raghu Dixit Project played CounterCulture, Bangalore as a part of the Bacardi NH7 Weekender pre-parties on Thursday, October 29. The band played with a new lineup that included HN Bhaskar on the violin and Bryden Lewis (of Slain ) on guitars. As we previously reported, Poets Of The Fall are slated to play The Great Indian Octoberfest this year in Bangalore. The festival has announced an entire lineup of artists slated to play the festival this year, over three days from November 11 to 13. The Storm Festival has made major additions to its lineup, having announced its first lineup last month. Apart from adding electronica/dance artists, Storm has added some big-name Indian indie artists like The Raghu Dixit Project (pictured above), Indian Ocean , Lesle Lewis (of Coke Studio and Colonial Cousins fame) and Soulmate , which makes this folk/fusion lineup very exciting indeed. DJ lineups have also been announced and the festival promises some exciting international DJs and bunch of Indian DJs as well. Mumbai electro-rock act Shaa'ir + Func kicked off their I Am, You Are, We Is tour at High Spirits, Pune on Friday, September 9. Legendary Mumbai venue Razzberry Rhinocerous opened its doors for the Bacardi NH7 Weekender announcer party on Thursday, August 25. The evening saw fans and Razz loyalists lining up to enter at 6pm itself, well before the announced 7.30pm gates time. Little known travel/leisure group Soulitudes has announced the Himalayan Village Music Festival to be held in Sonapani, Uttarakhand this September at the Himalayan Village resort. Having been around for a while, sadly without much presence on the internet, Soulitudes is now in their seventh year of conducting this festival which, apart from music, also features bonfires, walks and workshops. India's biggest folk export in recent times, The Raghu Dixit Project , began a long string of UK dates with a trio of appearances at Glastonbury, held recently on June 22-26. Aside from performances at the relatively minor Croissant Neuf and Leftfield, Dixit played a set at the John Peel Stage.
