Sigur Ros have announced that they will release a deluxe edition of their latest album, 'Med Sud I Eyrum Vid Spilum Endalaust' that boasts a massive book of ohotos and a whole lot more. The special version of the Icelandic band's fifth album, which translates as 'With a Buzz in Our Ears We Play Endlessly', will include a 200-page hardback book of band photos by photographer Eva Vermandel. AC/DC's new album, Black Ice , won't be released for another week. But it's already a smash: as an illegal download. The album was leaked onto YouTube and BitTorrent on October 7. While Sony's legal eagles quickly swooped in and succesfully pulled the record from YouTube, the files have remained on BitTorrent - where they've racked up 400,000 downloads. Here's a little known fact about Metallica's Lars Ulrich: he is a serious art collector. I know he's got a couple of works from my favorite contemporary painter, Francis Bacon, and he really digs Jean-Michel Basquiat. The collapse of his former band, The Darkness , and an unsuccessful attempt to represent the United Kingdom in 2007's Eurovision Song Contest have hardly dampened Justin Hawkins' drive. My Morning Jacket singer-guitarist Jim James has been released from the hospital after being injured in a fall during a concert at the University of Iowa. A Cedar Rapids newspaper reported that James slipped and fell about 30 minutes into the show Tuesday night. The Gazette says James apparently hit his head in the fall, which happened between songs. The rest of the concert by the Southern rock group was canceled. Spokesman Tom Moore of University Hospitals said Wednesday that James, whose real name is James Olliges Junior, was treated and released.

The Flaming Lips will be taking over the streets of Oklahoma City on Halloween. Their March of 1,000 Flaming Skeletons parade will take place on Saturday, October 25th. They have also announced screening dates of their highly anticipated feature film 'Christmas On Mars' throughout the US. The 82-minute feature will be shown in theatres across the country this autumn. In addition to traditional evening showtimes, the film will be shown at 7:00am and 9:00am so viewers can see the film before they go to work, according to a band statement. Good god. [...]
