Los Angeles based noise-pop duo, No Age hit up The Late Show with David Letterman the other night. They performed the track "Fever Dreaming" off of last year's excellent LP "Everything In Between". While the studio version of the track is a loud and intense rocker, it really doesn't hold a candle to the live version of it. The pair turned the song into a superb, high-energy and fierce piece of music. They destroyed it. Watching the band live here really highlights what talented musicians they are. Drummer and vocalist, Dean Spunt pounds and [...]

In sync with its emergence began a whole host of similarly-inclined acts, each originating from famed LA venue The Smell, which happens to grace the cover of the aforementioned debut. Since that time, a slight cynicism has appeared in the air whenever the words "lo-fi" and "The Smell" are mentioned. No Age have had little choice but to adapt in an attempt to remain relevant. And remarkably in an album with [...]
I've never been much of a fan of Dean Spunt and Randy Randall's band No Age , but I try to give them a chance every time they release something new. Their debut album, Weirdo Rippers , wasn't to my liking. Nouns had my attention for brief moments. Then came the Losing Feeling EP , which holds the title of being my favorite work by the duo. I must reiterate though, [...]
Where do you start an interview with No Age guitarist and effects alchemist Randy Randall ? Considering the group constantly provides a torrent of intriguing shit - be it their 'in the round' tours, their apparel design, the abstract film scores, the late night television political debacles , and not to mention their diverse and consistently excellent catalog - there's a myriad of conversation starters, and you don't want to take up a lot of the band's time. Luckily for me, interviewing Randy was a casual affair - just two dudes talking about music [...]
This. Remix. Is. Epic. Maybe it's that love is blind and anything No Age touches is Midas in my eyes, but their remix of Fucked Up 's "Epiphany" will have you floored. In almost an orchestral nature, Randy and Dean build lush scenes of dialogue between Concentration Camp's vocals, and No Age's unique approach to whatever is placed in front of them. On a scale from club cuts to intellectual jams this ranks along with Deakin (Animal Collective) remixing Ratatat - take that as you wish, just download the tune. For [...]
Whoever thought that a simple T-shirt could cause such a ruckus? It is no doubt that the T-shirt has long been a part of popular culture, used as a vehicle for self expression, showing off a variety of graphic images, sometimes political and social statements. But if you don't know your rights, you could be violated by the so called 'experts'. At a time when justice is not being served, we should be sure to question what is being requested of us in all matters. The letter below comes from Randy Randall of No Age , regarding [...]
There's actually a pretty strange story behind this video as well. According to the No Age Blog , lead guitarist Randy Randall was set to play "Eraser" on the Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson wearing a Barack Obama t-shirt, when a CBS exec told him he would have to remove the t-shirt because of something called the "Fairness Law," which says TV networks are supposed to give presidential candidates equal amounts of on-air exposure. Solution: Randy turned the shirt inside out, scrawled "Free Healthcare" on the front in permanent marker, and put the shirt back on to perform. [...]

No Age + Atlas Sound + Jim Jarmusch!?!?
Jim Jarmusch, Bradford Cox, and No Age's Randy Randall covering Neil Young's "Cortez the Killer" on P4K. It was recorded at the ATP Festival. Is it too late to submit this to some kind of "best collabs of '09" list?

MIKA MIKO + AUDACITY + WIDOW BABIES @ THE SMELL
Two kids find themselves on the wrong side of a tall green-painted iron fence and decide to climb over to get to the show. The first guy manages to get his legs over and jumps the rest of the way, hitting the ground running to lessen the impact. His friend attempts to do the same, but gets his shoe stuck on the fence and crashes to the ground, an eight foot fall with only his elbow and face to land on. Another night at the Smell.
