It's been a year since Chance The Rapper 's debut mixtape was released, and now he comes out with his brand new Acid Rap . He's new, he's fresh, he's got great flow, and for such a new player on the scene he already has some great cosigns. One example is none other than Childish Gambino on his humbly named song "Favorite Song". Anyways, ever since I heard "Cocoa Butter Kisses" a few days ago, I can't stop playing it. He's definitely doing something right. [...]

It's safe to say most kids love peanut butter and jelly. I did not. Globby, purple and red preserves never appealed to me, which is why-in one of those inspired parenthood moves-mom always added honey to transform my simple bread and spread sandwiches into a "PB&H." I still make them when I'm feeling homesick. For me, Clams Casino and DOOM go together like peanut butter and honey. I've been enamored with the molasses @ClammyClams aesthetic since Lil B's "Motivation" rang out of my tinny Macbook speakers what feels like forever ago, but was [...]
Connecticut rapper Ricky Hil dropped the new visuals for his track "Juicy J" this week. Ricky, formerly known as Rich Hil, has clearly taken inspiration from Taylor Gang 's Juicy J for this track, most notably for the line "you say no to drugs, Ricky Hil can't", which is taken from the Juicy J track "Juicy J Can't". The track itself has a laid-back feel to it, with a very minimalistic beat accompanied by Ricky's unique voice and flow. Hil released his latest mixtape S.Y.L.D.D (Support Your Local Drug Dealer) back in March via [...]
When the audio Pusha T's "Numbers On The Boards" dropped, I was pretty flabbergasted by the instrumental. The sharp, choppy percussion fits oddly against sampled shouts and a driving bassline. It's a weird, weird beat, but what's even more surprising is Pusha T doesn't sound at all shaken by the unorthodox instrumental. He sounds smoother than ever on this new track, which he's just dropped some visuals for. Uh, I'm not sure what the budget was on this-it might have been nothing-but that doesn't seem to shake Pusha's confidence either. I think the greatest expense this video had was the [...]
Pusha T might be a bit hit and miss. But when he hits, he hits like a bouncing lowrider. Here's his latest video for Numbers On The Boards - it made me remember why I love that first Clipse album so much: Numbers On The Boards is produced by Kanye West and Don Cannon - and is taken from his forthcoming album, [...]
Pusha T finally produces a visual for his "Numbers on the Boards" track, a release we covered in April. The king of coke rhymes spits his usual blend of drug lingo and cash assests this time behind the dim but beautiful Paris landscape. Remember to check out his new album My Name is My Name dropping mid summer. The post Video: Pusha T - Numbers on the Boards appeared first on Vibe To This .

Three remarkable singles over the past few months have lead us to Chance the Rapper’s second mixtape, Acid Rap , which is blowing up the internet even as I write this. And for good reason: Acid Rap serves as a remarkable (if not all that surprising) showcase for a very young and very talented MC. Acid Rap does not have the appetizer sampler feel of a lot of other mixtapes, and is buffered with excellent guest vocals from the likes of Twista, Action Bronson, and (surprisingly) Chance’s mentor of sorts Childish Gambino. None of whom, [...]
New J. Cole - Cole Summer is both self produced (obv) and banging. I’m pumped for this coming Cole summer… Cop the download in the above player on the right side.
Enigmatically gifted to make the ridiculous seem extremely achievable, Flight Facilities ’ work ethic of opposites-attracts and thoroughly thought out mix specials push this Caribbean-keeno duo onto the upper echelons of greatness and classic / present-day reminiscing of the utmost extremes. You have been warned. ‘I Didn’t Believe’ is out now on Glassnote Entertainment / Future Classic. UPCOMING TOUR DATES 11 May 2013 - Perth, The Bakery 17 May 2013 - North QLD, Base [...]

If there is one thing I can always rely on, it is YONAS sampling an awesome tune, then laying down a sick flow. And that is exactly what he has done here, sampling the addictive vocals from John Newman and Rudimental's massive summer tune, 'Feel The Love'.YONAS then adds his trademark clever and touching feel [...]

By Teddy Pendergrass In continuation of my thoughts that Philly indeed birthed some of the most talented emcees of this generation (read more here ), I'd like to rant on the current state of hip-hop in the 215. In all honesty, I find myself critiquing every rap song I hear, and interestingly enough, I always seem to lose myself into dozens and dozens of track replays from unsigned Philly rappers. Why do I get so bored with most emcees world wide, but can't get enough of people that you never heard of? I'd guess it [...]

Over the past two weeks, we’ve been blessed with some new hip-hop from Gorilla Warfare Tactics , all in anticipation for this day. On April 30th, the trio dropped their mix tape entitled Zoology , and I don’t even know where to begin. Not only did they fail to disappoint, they exceeded every expectation we could imagine. The sophomore release reflects all the hard work the group has put into their music over the past year. The 10 songs, filled with complex and layered beats, deliver a polished rhythmic punch [...]
R.A. The Rugged Man returns with his first album in almost ten years. While he may be rapping faster than ever-and is incredibly vile at points-some of the production on this LP sounds incredibly dated and obvious. WATCH THE REVIEW
18 year old, Baton Rouge producer, suicideyear , has been blowing up my Twitter timeline all week. After releasing his debut mixtape, Japan , my internet/meme/nerd world (whatever Trees calls it), went apeshit. Since most JTTS contributors and readers are still stressing about sour (2013) Wu Tang news (go figure), I can see y'all ain't ready, but personally I can say that Japan knocks and this kid will undoubtedly shine. If you're as high as me, join me in listening, as we ascend beyond the tallest of cloud mountains. Meet your angelic concubines and eat more [...]
