Real Estate Twerps Appearing at The Bottleneck (Lawrence, KS) on Saturday, April 28, 2012
You may not know Twerps yet, but with the band opening up for Real Estate on their upcoming tour, expect to know them soon. What should give the band an extra added boost is the video for their song "Through the Day" above--it's pretty great! Twerps tour dates: Dates marked * w/ Real Estate 2/8 - Melbourne, AUS - Corner Hotel 3/2 - Melbourne, AUS - Phoenix Public House 3/9 - Sydney, AUS - The Standard * 3/12 - Melbourne, AUS - [...]

OK, we're cutting in one for a New Music Monday, so I'm going to make this a quickie. The fact that it's quick doesn't detract from the quality of the tunes though. They're all whoppers today. Now, I know that these aren't all super new songs, but I've only discovered them recently myself. Perhaps I should rename this post type 'New To Me Music Monday'. I'm going to post Howler 'Back Of Your Neck' first as it has been stuck in my head all day. This is probably because it was on the radio earlier, [...]

Tweet Sometimes a band has a song that's so irresistibly good that once it finishes the only thing you want to do is listen to it again. Recently, I was fortunate enough to encounter such a song, entitled "Caveman Game" .The musicians behind "Caveman Game" go by the names Chris Kerrigan, Dan Apodaca, Tim Jordan, and Kenny Tarantino. Together, they are WALK . WALK is a pop rock band from Los Angeles that has been around [...]

While they haven't officially announced an opener for their Seattle show yet, most American dates are being backed by Melbourne band Twerps . If you haven't checked out Real Estate's excellent 2011 release Days yet, do so now. On Tuesday, Young Turks, the label responsible for The xx , Chairlift , and SBTRKT guest hosted on Australia's [...]

Photos by Laura June Kirsch Real Estate is one of the buzzworthiest bands of 2k11/2k12, touring across the country to 'raise their profile', and hopefully earn their way into the leather interiors of NPR -cool dad markets forever, grandfathered into our idea of 'indie that we pay 4' forever. Anyways, they played some show at a Chinese Buffet. I'm not sure if it is because they have 'hit rock bottom', living a life where they are addicted to needle drugs, inhalants, cock fighting and/or human trafficking in the [...]
Photo by Philip Cosores New Jersey's Real Estate have turned into virtual road warriors, adding even more tour dates to what has seemed like some relentless support fo last year's excellent album, Days . Their current slate of dates has Real Estate heading to Europe in mid-February, to Australia in March, and then back to the U.S. for Coachella in April. After Coachella, Real Estate will continue to locations like Lawrence, Kansas and Columbus, Ohio, eventually winding their world tour down with an appearance at Primavera Sound. We know you lost sleep over the course of last month, waiting patiently, racking your brain to see what we could possibly list as our favorite albums of 2011. We lost sleep too, compulsively checking our lists twice and perhaps after a fist fight or two, we settled on 25 firm choices. After all, who listens to as much music as us? Who actually has time to listen to put together a valid top 25 list with no filler? We're fairly certain that most other sites don't include at least a handful of the albums listed on none other [...]
