When I saw Bo Ramsey and the Mystery Lights at the Mill back in May, Pieta was kind of hanging back in the shadows of the dark bar and helping her sister sell some Bo Ramsey merchandise. Recorded last year for a local PBS feature, this drifting, hypnotic version of "West Monroe" from her fine 2007 album Remember the Sun finds singer/songwriter Pieta Brown 's sweet and smokey drawl bobbing slowly against a dark, stinging electric guitar fill.
