I hadn't heard this song in quite some time and in fact was going thru the MASSIVE BGB Archive to look for it. I was astonished to realize we hadn't put it up even tho this was the first Hathbanger song I ever had back in '08. Fun fact, before moving out to Boulder the kid is actually from Hanover - hence our getting to know him dumb early in the game. Nothing too complicated going in this track - just a pure, good old fashioned mash up of that genre's golden age a few [...]
Showing some love for Dartmouth alum DJ Janksi, who puts together a great edit of this Aoki track. There is currently a remix contest going for this song on beatport, so if you're feeling his mix show your support by voting here . Check the BGB archive on Janski here . Steve Aoki ft. Wynter Gordon - Ladi Dadi (Janski Remix) by Janski
Can't believe this track hasn't been up here yet. AWOLNATION had a remix contest for the original song going last year, and this was the winner. It was selected back in November but I'm hearing it for the first time. Even though the remix is great don't think it can top the original. Definitely a track I overlooked and am just getting on now. There are also plenty of other edits floating around left over from the contest that are worth checking out. AWOLNATION - Sail (LED Remix) by TheLED [...]
![Jimbo Jenkins – Dirty South Breakz [Free Download]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/4044529_lg.jpg)
East of LA's Jimbo Jenkins continues to stay on his DJ mix grind into the new year, with his new project "Dirty South Breaks". On this mix, Jimbo fuses some of the most known Southern a cappella's with Hip-Hop breakbeats. Our fondness for trill/trap Southern music here at East of LA is apparent, so with this project, it was Jimbo's goal to present this music in a way a hip-hop fan, who might be weary of the Southern trap style, would even enjoy. Where as you could easily imagine someone like KRS-One or Rakim rocking on [...]
So sorry golden boy. Nas - "N.Y. State Of Mind"
Yes, you read that correctly. This is the immensely talented dubstep duo Zeds Dead reworking Danger's remix of the Tellier track "Divine." Always love me some Zeds Dead...baby. Sebastien Tellier - Divine (Danger Remix) (Zeds Dead ReRemix) by zedsdead
Gigamesh first came to our attention with his remix of Mike Posner's Cooler Than Me , which was an absolute smash here in Hanover. Especially after Mike came up north to play...and made moves on every girl in the basement. Anyways, Gigamesh is back up with another solid track. This one is just a real feel-good song. Check out more at his soundcloud . Grouplove - Tongue Tied (Gigamesh Remix) by GIGAMESH
New track from RAC, who can do no wrong when it comes to the remix. Zee Avi is an artist signed to Jack Johnson's Brushfire Records back in 2009. You can hear the laid-back style that probably appealed to Johnson in the original song (video below), but the remix takes it to a whole new level. Check the BGB archive of RAC remixes here . Zee Avi - "Concrete Wall (RAC Remix)"
Urban Noize is a music production team based out of Miami, FL, that has put out a number of solid remix/mashups this past year. I just came across one featuring Jay-Z, Pharrell, and the up-and-coming Lana Del Rey that has some nice flow. There's definitely a Bonnie & Clyde feel to the song, as Jay-Z and Lana play off each other's vocals, constantly going back and forth. If you're into this remix, check out Urban Noize's SoundCloud for some free downloads here . Jay-Z, Pharrell & Lana Del Rey - "Allure (OTTR) [Urban Noize Remix]"
New song and video from Derek Smith, aka Pretty Lights. Everyone loves a dubbed up banger from PL, but this track is for the people who appreciate his softer side. Smith filmed and edited the video personally, with the help of his creative director Krystle Blackburn. Really enjoying this little piece because it embodies the true Pretty Lights experience: combining the visual and audio into one. Look for 2012 to be a breakout year for the Colorado native. Pretty Lights - "We Must Go On"
So this may not be the 'typical' BGB post, but hey, it never hurts to try something different. It won't get you up with hands in the air dancing, but it may hit most of us somewhere close to home. 'Somebody That I Used To Know' is a track released as a single in mid-2011 by the Australian-Belgian artist Gotye. I hadn't heard it until recently but understand why it hit #1 on charts across multiple countries. The quiet instrumentals and mix of male and female vocals play off each other real well while sending a message in [...]
If only AlexxFoxx was usable on Words With Friends. Anyway, something very hypnotic about this one. Might not be for everybody but I'm really feeling this beat and the vocal effects being used. Plus its been too long since I heard anything Bloc Party related. Check out more of this Bristol based DJ's material here . Bloc Party - Flux (Alexx Foxx Remix) by alexxfoxx
When I first heard back to cali over this tropical Jamaican beat I actually forgot for half a second that the weather here wasn't actually the worst. This is a fun and simple remix by Viceroy that's workin for me right now. Like Viceroy on facebook for the free download , seems like a fair trade. Thanks to Dan for the heads up.
We've posted a bunch of remixes from the talented dubstep duo Adventure Club out of Montreal. Always seem to like everything they put out. What we have below is an original. Really feeling the production and think they have big things ahead of them. Check the BGB archive here , and the group's soundcloud here . Do I See Color by Adventure Club Dubstep Also a pretty fresh video of some live footage from Adventure Club shows.
Don't know how we haven't posted this guy before but its better late than never. Also with the previous post with the It's Always Sunny cut and edit type song this goes hand in hand but is way way way more granular. Anyways, this Australian goes by Pogo but his real name is Nick Bertke. Basically takes words/sounds from his favorite movies or games and creates music out of them. This guy is a genius. Check out his webpage because all of his videos music are very different and he covers numerous genres. Also you can download or [...]
Prett sick look at the life that Tiesto has created for himself. Check out the description below and enjoy epidose 1 and be sure to check out the others when they come out. I will try to stay on top of it but I can't make any promises. "Join us for an unprecedented, all access look inside the world of Tiësto! Never before has anyone been this up close and personal in every part of Tiësto's world. This first episode is a preview of the amazing journey that will unfold over the course of this season. I was really excited to stumble across this Fred Falke remix of "Reaching out" last night. I love Fred Falke's touch on songs, he always makes them his own and the result is, without fail, pretty incredible. If you're not convinced, our deep archive of Falke tracks is pretty definitive proof. His "Dancing On My Own" and "Watch the Sun Come Up" remixes are all time. Nero- "Reaching Out (Fred Falke Remix)" The original is also a great song worth giving a listen, I just happen to have a [...]
Proper Villains give a disclaimer for this track: "We went full retard on this one...A jock jams anthem with Lil' Jon and Lil' Wayne samples." While we all know that you never go full retard...its pretty impossible to resist the "MOTHERFUCKER I'M ILL" into the absolute wobblefest drop. I'm sure you can find an appropriate time to bust this one out. Download the song free by "Like"-ing their facebook page here . According to his soundcloud , el Mau5 wrote this while he was asleep. Must have been a terrifying fucking dream...looks like Zimmerman is continuing down the dark road he's been on lately. Cthulhu2 by fuckmylife I'll also include something released right around Christmas time in case you missed it, or you need a reprieve from the track above. xmas stuff. by fuckmylife (Deadmau5 post after [...]
So I just heard the other day that How To Make It In America has been cancelled . While I was always skeptical about Sunday Night HBO watching bros around the country caring about a guy who's trying to be a fashion designer, the show did always bring some quality music and a little glimpse at the New York City life style. Not to mention a regular look at the gorgeous Lake Bell and her absolutely breathtaking rack (it can even make you ignore how strange this video is). [...]
