It's been a long time coming, but after numerous delays it's finally here! The first of the newly revieved remix monday's tasked you all with remixing Gtronic's Sucker Punch and remix you did! In total I listened to 47 remixes from many different genres. It was honestly hard to pick the top 3. So many of them were neck and neck that I had to listen to them over and over again. Here are my decisions. My overall top pick for the Sucker Punch Remix Monday is.. Thrusher! I was actually not impressed with this [...]

Welcome back to Remix Monday! As I mentioned yesterday it'll be back in a very limited fashion from now on, basically when everyone starts getting restless and feels like it's time for another one. This time you'll be remixing one of my favorite rawer tracks, Sucker Punch by GTronic . He broke on the scene in late 2009 with his track Iron Man (still a big track) and once he was signed to Dim Mak all bets were off. Download the remix parts here: GTronic - Sucker Punch (Remix Parts) (168mb, Zip) [...]

Welcome back again to Remix Monday! This week everyone was tasked with remixing Swedish House Mafia's Leave The World Behind and I've picked the best of the best remixes below. Being that this is a massive House track I was more than a little surprised to hear this amazing dubstep remix come in. I may be a little biased towards dubstep after listening to Udachi's Guest Mix last week, but you just can't ignore how good this is. Swedish House Mafia & Laidback Luke [...]
It was super hard choosing a winner for the first Remix Monday. In all I received 31 remixes which all had very unique character. I'd like to thank everyone who entered over the past two weeks. I really didn't think this would be a big a hit as it's been, but I'm glad it's had a strong start. So without further ado, taking the crown in the first Remix Monday is PatrickAwesome! Out of all the remixes, this one is my favorite in terms of what he did with the vocals. [...]
Welcome welcome to the very first Remix Monday! I'm super excited about this and can't wait to hear all your remixes, so we'll just get started right away. The song you'll be remixing will be Ocelot 's Our Time . You have two weeks to remix the track and send it into me either by email or SoundCloud , at which point I'll listen to all the entries and pick the winners. Here's the original track incase you forgot what it sounded like Ocelot - Our Time (Original) [...]

Walter Meego is a band from Chicago, Illinois. They've had a few EPs and singles out as well as their first album, Voyager , released last year. The first song off of that album is "Forever," one of my favorites. . Walter Meego - "Forever" "Forever" is a sweet pop song, delivered with a soft sincerity through the vocal chords of lead singer, Justin Sconza . The track has elements of electronic music, but in a much [...]

Phoenix 's fourth LP drop, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix , was critically praised by critics the world over and shone a light on a band that through no choice of their own, eluded immense popularity. One track off of that album that was well received was "Love Like A Sunset." Though I do enjoy the track, I don't hold it in as high esteem as others when compared to others from the album, however, I quite like the remixes. . [...]

I've always really liked Simian Mobile Disco , the production and remix team, which I guess you could call a band. They formed from the ashes of Simian and the members consist of James Ford and Jas Shaw . Their music is electronic based but always original and most of the time, a little out there. "Audacity of Huge" is a track off of their last studio release Temporary Pleasure . I didn't think I liked it at first but I actually really do. It's just so damn catchy. [...]

Friendly Fires is a pop trio from the UK and one of my favorite bands of the year. They've been making quite a name for themselves and were one of the nominated for this year's Mercury Prize. I haven't listened to their entire album in whole, but I keep running across its songs on different occasions and find myself loving them. I think I've covered the whole album by now and nothing on it disappoints me. They also make really fun and creative music videos, which all contain some pretty wild and funky dance moves by lead [...]

Au Revoir Simone is a three-piece female group from Williamsburg, New York. Their name comes from a line spoken by Pee Wee Herman to a character named Simone in Tim Burton 's Pee Wee's Big Adventure . The group formed in 2003, putting out songs that were recorded in a basement shower stall. They've moved up in the world since. . Au Revoir Simone – "Another Likely Story " "Another Likely Story," like much of Au Revoir Simone's [...]

Empire of the Sun 's "Walking on a Dream" was one of my favorite tracks of last year. I did a review on their album as well, which I thought was definitely a solid set of tunes centered upon their biggest hit, "Walking on a Dream". And since then there have been plenty of great remixes for this track. . Empire of the Sun – Walking on a Dream As described in my review of the album, this song is a pop, synth number, [...]

Miike Snow , the Swedish pop trio, has been shaking around and denting up the music scene this past 2009. When the band came out with the debut of their two singles "Burial" and "Animal" earlier this year with remixes by DJ Mehdi and Treasure Fingers in tow, people were perplexed as to what this entity "Miike Snow" was. The band had emptiness on their myspace, there was nothing on Wikipedia or anywhere on the internet for that matter. Nobody knew if "Miike Snow" was a band, DJ, solo artist, etc. A mystery that indeed helped build a buzz around [...]

DatA is an electronic artist from Paris, France, on the Ekleroshock label. He's put out his first album, Skywriter , to positive reviews accompanied with great artwork and music videos, done in the 70s/80s sci-fi neon style. "Rapture" is a track that got him known before the album and features vocals from Sebastien Grainger of the now defunct dance punk band, Death From Above 1979 . . DatA – "Rapture" "Rapture" is a sleek electro track with light [...]

Digitalism is a German electronic, dance punk duo consisting of Jens Moelle and Ismail Tufekci. They have been together since 2004 and released plenty of singles, an EP, but no full length album as of yet. Digitalism has also released many remixes of various artists. They are certainly one of the most prominent and prolific electronic groups in the scene right now. . Digitalism – "Taken Away" "Taken Away" is a pretty basic track, it's electronic down [...]

"Ready for the Weekend" is probably not the most suitable song for a Monday [ Ed. note: It is. And even more so for a Wednesday! ], but hopefully it gets you through the work week quicker. "Ready for the Weekend" is the second single off of Scottish DJ/Producer, Calvin Harris ', second album of the same name, released just earlier this month. . Calvin Harris – "Ready for the Weekend" Ready for the Weekend is exactly, and wonderfully, in the same style that [...]

Sweden's emerging electronica act O'Spada , who seemingly came out of nowhere in June with their synth-laden track "Time," are happy to present eleven remixes resulting from a remix competition they host for the track with their label, Despotz Records . O'Spada is a side project for Swedish songbird Julia Spada, who is joined by Samuel Lindberg on drums, Johan Ivansson on bass, Christopher on the keys and Karl Annmo on guitar. The mix-tracks off "Time" were available [...]

La Roux has been around for some months now, with the release of their self titled debut on June 29th, and been getting plenty of hype and acclaim. I've liked their songs but not to the extent that BBC seems to love them. La Roux is a duo from England, consisting of Elly Jackson on synths and lead vocals and Ben Langmaid as co-writer and producer. The band oft comes off as a solo group with Elly Jackson being the face, sporting her Flock of Seagulls inspired hair. They have a lot of [...]

An oldie but a goodie, "Dare" is a song of Damon Albarn 's acclaimed group, Gorillaz , from their 2005 album, Demon Days . It was the groups first song to hit #1 on the UK charts and features vocals from the lead singer of Happy Mondays , Shaun Ryder . The original title of the song was "It's There" but Ryder's thick Mancurian accent made it sound like "It's Dare", hence the name change. As much as I love this track, the remixes are far superior. [...]

Bloc Party is out with a new single and it's great, I love it. "One More Chance" is set to release on August 10th, but it's been making its way around UK radio stations and the blogosphere the past few weeks. I'm pretty relieved, nay, simply happy that I love this single because I've been slightly disappointed with their last two LPs after the release of their stunning debut, Silent Alarm . It's still clear that Bloc Party remains one of the most intriguing, complex and creative bands in existence. . [...]
