A couple months ago Joel Azevedo (do you recognize this name?) aka Silenx uploaded his "Long Lost Love" and now it's available for free. As we all know, his music is influenced by the 802s. Everytime he drops a new track i feel really excited. I'm pretty sure 2012 is going to be big for Joel. He has been growing as producer really fast always developing his skills bringing freshness and a huge amount of love/creativity. This track for example, is so good that makes me listen to it on repeat. I'm completely addicted to his music. If [...]

From: London, UK Lazy equation: (Cathedral + Saint Vitus) x lots and lots of Black Sabbath . URL: Facebook // Big Cartel Thrash Hits Verdict:
Is "retro" a dirty word? Are we doing the history of metal a disservice by referring to bands as "traditional" metal? Should we just shut the hell up, and stop trying to pigeonhole every damn band in the world? Isn't it about time we featured a band in Future Hits that we heard about through [...]
With influences of Phoenix, Breakbot, Uffie and Penguin Prison , MAUSI is indie pop with a lot of disco. Their first single "sol." is set to be released on February 20th, via All Things Go . In the meantime, the Polarsets made a tropical remix to carry us over. This remix is more electronic, with an emphasis on the breathtaking female voice. Her demands are simple yet strong. "I'll be putting dreams in your eyes/I will be losing track of time as we dance in the summer days". MAUSI is a four piece [...]

A funny little song from the forthcoming Neverever EP, Shake-A-Baby . The title: "Mexicoco." It's the kind of song that would have been a surf pop hit in the 60s if it had a better recording going for it. I can see leagues of teenage girls chewing gum and gossiping about guys on the phone while this song spins on a 45 through a nearby record player. While it's kinda kitschy, Neverever seems more than aware of that, and that makes the total package a little tongue-in-cheek. So just catch a wave and bop your head to [...]

stooshe feat travie mccoy - love me [there's something so londonTLC about this trio (the over the top outfits, the sassy but safe attitude) that i'm kind of curious about them. the song follows the retro goodiness formula that is so popular these days which is probably why i haven't offered my undying love. but they're on the radar...] http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld

maverick sabre - no one [third single from maverick sabre's hotly anticipated debut album 'lonely are the brave' and it's mega catchy and mega lush! i'm so in!] http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld

To honor the tenth anniversary of their first release as a band, Australian funk/ soul eight-piece The Bamboos hooked up with fellow Aussie singer-songwriter Megan Washington for this lovely remake of James Blake's "The Wilhelm Scream" . Recasting the skeletal electro-soul ballad into a retro-laced slow burn beautifully seasoned with horns, organ and strings and Washington's entrancing vocal smokiness, their version feels tailor-made to soundtrack some somber scene in a '702s blaxploitation flick starring Pam Grier, or a quiet Sunday afternoon spent figuring out if you should or shouldn't call that ex you [...]

Good Morning!!! Mitch Murder is breaking the news to present us with Nite Sprite ! I could not ask for a better way to start my week with this Norwegian group that was formed by Brad & Sylvester. They like to tag their music as Cinematic-Electro. If you check them out on Nite Sprite you will discover a lot more interesting tunes including a nice remix of Chromeo. Plus, a new ep is about to be release and you can already pre-order here ! Mitch Murder [...]

Last couple of weeks were a bit exhausting for me. I simply had not the time to truly digest the latest releases. Being said, this weekend i just want to chillout. I'd like to make a short trip with you, through the gates of the universe, to present some hidden gems that will make your mind fly away. This is no favourite list or ' best of ' compilation. All I want is to share with you some tracks that I like to define as " stress decompressors ". Perfect if you are into this kind of cosmic and space [...]

WHOA!!! This is really exciting! Nice edit/mashup from this E Seven kid, which i don't know who he is. But, i really like this work here. He grabbed "Power" from Grum and added "Running Out Of Time" from Mitch Muder. The result is this killer track, straight to dance floor. Oh yeah...!!! Grum – Power (Ft. Mitch Murder) (E Seven Edit) [download here ] Follow Golden Scissors on Facebook

Etienne Copin aka Pyramid is one of the most exciting producers on the "scene". I love the way he drives his synths. This kid is going to be huge! Check out his remix for "Youth" from Foxes . This is just another example of what he can do. Don't forget to check him out on Soundcloud for a lot more great music!!! City Boy is short and sweet - you'll want it to carry on and on despite it's short playing time, but that's fine - it just means you're bound to listen to it again and again. It takes you away to a peaceful place with it's relaxing, chilled aura, with it being a simple enough track with a layered, well thought-out and rich sound. Read more..

From Poland comes Bela J also known as DeCtar . I've been following her for some time already. I love her "Chateaux Des Pardoux" track which was remixed by Diamond Messages. I think i fell in love for this lady since then. Yesterday she dropped a new remix for "Slow" from MRTN, which have never heard before. Anyway, this track is very solid with a nice synth line that you can't miss. It sounds like it's divided in two different parts. I loved that drop at 1:52 and the build that comes after it it's delicious.... Ahh, don't forget [...]
Austin, Texas is the home of an annual music festival with the name of SXSW but little did we know, it is also the home of Cameron Scanlon. Scanlon's solo project, Agent A creates an electronic jamboree of its own. He recently self released an album, Space Junk with 13 smoothly transitioned songs straight from his bedroom. The entire feel of Agent A is a complimentary mix of John Maus and The Flaming Lips . Imagine, all the weird yet vibrantly pop sounds from both bands, throwing confetti in [...]

This week tiago's wrote a review for the latest Moon Boots EP. While i was reading/listening to it, ColeCo 's remix called me attention. So, i went to check his productions and this remix he did for kavinsky's "Nightcall" has been played on repeat since then. He kept the main structure of the original and added a fantastic bassline. I thought to myself, why not share this. Maybe you will enjoy it as well! Kavinsky - Night Call (ColeCo Midnight Express Version) [download here ] [...]

Determined to carry out their quest in educating your ears, I plan to share with you some of the best originals and remixes the blogosphere has to offer. For my first post, I'll like to offer you guys a gift: this brand-new rework from London producer Mighty Mouse. Genre-tagged under the title "Nu Disco Battle Front," [...]

First of all i just want to say, i'm not a Phil Collins fan. Believe me it's true! Second of all this remix is amazing. I've been following Cosmo Black for a while and this is my favorite remix he did, so far. It's so well "designed" that i had to blog it. This is not even considered a guilty pleasure, because if it wasn't Phil's vocals, probably we wouldn't easily discover the sample. Don't forget to check Cosmo Black for more remixes. I'm sure you will fall in love for this guy! [...]

Listening to her music, an otherworldly edge, surprising twists and powerful, haunting vocals make her much more than just another pretty folk-pop-acoustic performer. In other words, in Scandinavian music terms that Americans can understand, she's no ABBA retread and not quite the enigmatic eccentric of Bjork , but carving her own unique and welcome niche in the music world. Atlanta Retro writes about my music, my upcoming show at the Drunken Unicorn [...]
