The passing of Avenged Sevenfold drummer James "The Rev" Sullivan left many fans of the band wondering what would happen next regarding their new album. It turns out that A7X will go on with the new record and make it a fitting tribute for their fallen bandmate. The band will have Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy playing drums on the new album. According to reports from The Orange Country Register, James Owen Sullivan, aka The Rev, drummer with Avenged Sevenfold, was found dead at his home in California on December 28. The sticksmith apparently died of natural causes. This appears to have been confirmed by the band, who have released the following statement: "It is with great sadness and [...]

Sad news for all fans of Avenged Sevenfold as its been reported that drummer James "The Rev" Sullivan was found dead at his home in Huntington Beach on Monday December 28th. So far it's being reported that he died of natural causes. Rev was only 28-years old. In addition to being the drummer and an original member of A7X, Rev was also the lead vocalist of the band Pinkly Smooth . Rev is survived by his wife Leana MacFadden.
