There has been plenty going on in the world of music over the past week, here is Indiescreet's roundup of the latest news. You Ain't No Picasso found this new Grizzly Bear track titled 'Slow Life' "Grizzly Bear and Victoria Legrand (of Beach House) have a new song coming out on the New Moon soundtrack that I've been dying to hear. Yesterday a kind commenter dropped word on YANP that they'd debuted it the night before in Chicago. So after a bit of youtubing [...]

As some of you may know I'm currently working on a new look for Indiescreet. Before you start worrying, no I haven't sold out. It's still just little old me (Chris) running things. The whole new design has been done by me so when it's unveiled I'd love to know what you guys think. I decided upon a redesign because I wasn't happy with Indiescreet's current design. There's nothing wrong on the outside but behind the scenes is a different story, hopefully this new design will make things much easier. For a sneak peak [...]
Too Many Sebastians shared a great Empire Of The Sun remix, as well as some confusion over the bands UK releases "We're totally perplexed by the release dates of Empire Of The Sun in the UK, 'Standing On The Shore' (Kanye West approved! ZOMG!) is apparently the next single to come out here. But it could be put back for another re-release of 'We Are The People' or a re-re-release of 'Walking On A Dream'. Really, who knows? But this is a fine remix from Lifelike. 8 Minutes of bliss." [...]
Welikeit.indie shared the new video from Fuck Buttons with us "Fuck Buttons burst back into action with the release of their blistering new album, Tarot Sport, in early October. The album will be preceded by the release of a single, "Surf Solar", on September 14th (both on ATP Recordings) & by a full UK tour with regional dates in September & a headline London show at Heaven in Charing Cross on October 27th." Here is the usual eclectic mix of links which have kept me busy over the past week. Dananananaykroyd gave us an insight into their inspirations via some Spotify playlists "A few months ago we were asked to compile a spotify playlist each for a site, but for some reason or another they didn't get used, so i thought i'd share them with you guys here! if anything it shows how varied our tastes are (only one song appears twice - can you spot.. [ahem] it?). " [...]
This week's review of the week features some great links to share with your friends. Pretty Much Amazing gave a respective review of Animal Collectives latest album in a feature aptly titled Blinded By The Hype? "Welcome back to Blinded By The Hype, the newly inaugurated PMA feature in which we revisit some of our top reviewed albums once the hype has died down." "Well, what a little pickle I find myself in here, with this here feature. See here's the thing – if the general reaction to Merriweather [...]
First of all in this weeks review of the week is my view on Arctic Monkeys web transmission which took place yesterday (July 30th). A great way to build hype for the new album by the band but not much else. Nothing ground breaking but I do however believe this idea will be taken up by more bands in the not too distant future. The only thing that annoyed me was how dark everything was, no I'm not talking about the tracks for once. I mean the lighting, it would have been nice if you could actually see the bloody [...]
