The nominations for the The 69th Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced this morning in Los Angeles. Ricky Gervais' mockumentary Life's Too Short will premiere on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 10:30/9:30c on HBO. The new series stars Harry Potter's Warwick Davis as a fictionalized version of himself as he tries to hustle his way back into the spotlight. After weeks of rumors it's finally official - Ricky Gervais will be back to host the Golden Globes for a third year. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association voted for the controversial British comedian's return after meeting with NBC official Doug Vaughn. According to Ricky Gervais' twitter account, "the original Office from the UK will be available to download for the first time on iTunes on Oct. 24th worldwide." This is one of my top 5 favorite series of all time; if you are a fan of Extras then you'll love the Office. Do yourself a favor and download the entire 2 seasons and Christmas special.

Ricky Gervais posted on his blog yesterday that he would like to do a live 3 hour podcast during the 2012 Golden Globes on January 15th. The British comedian and a few of his hilarious friends such as Louis CK, Chris Rock, Karl Pilkington, John Stewart, Larry David would offer their own alternative commentary. I would definitely turn the volume down on the typically bland awards ceremony and listen to the podcast instead! I will post more should Gervais decide to move forward with his brilliant idea.
