When someone sells something to you with comparisons to Atlas Sound and Kurt Vile, you know you’re either going to be left ecstatic or mightily underwhelmed. Fortunately, in the case of Oliver Wilde, the former definitely applies. “Perrett’s Brook”, true to those comparisons, enters with that laconic, Vile-esq drawl, circling round unsettling, butchered fragments of guitar that would make Mr Bradford Cox himself proud. The dynamic duo of Matt Van Schie and  Mighty Mouse , better known now as Du Tonc , are back at it with a brand new single entitled Rise . Striking whilst the iron is hot, Du Tonc have just unveiled their third single, 'Rise'. Now we'll spare you the histrionics of the Mighty Mouse/Matt Van Schie collaboration only to say it's been a bit of a runaway success. Their latest is a probably the darkest of the three tracks, with plenty of oddball percussion, a wolf howling (seriously) and plenty of Schie's raspy robotic vocals, which aren't really their to add melody but rather a bit of character. Like Moths to Flames have released one of those trendy lyric videos for the new song "The Blackout." The song will be on the band's forthcoming sophomore release An Eye for an Eye , out July 9th via Rise Records .

Rolling Stone is streaming the sophomore effort from Emily's Army , Lost at Seveteen . Check it out here. The album is due out June 11, 2013 via Rise Records and was produced by Green Day 's Billie Joe Armstrong, father of drummer Joey Armstrong.

The Color Morale debuted their new music video for "Strange Comfort" The track is taken from their most recently released album, Know Hope , available now from Rise Records . The band is currently on the road with Escape The Fate .

Rise Records has added 7 Seconds to their roster. The legendary west coast punks will be hitting the studio this summer to begin recording new music for an upcoming 7-inch and full-length, both for the label. Rise Records will be releasing a split 7-inch from Make Do and Mend and The Flatliners on June 18, 2013 . The split will feature two new songs from each band and is up for pre-order. Rise has also posted a brief video teaser for the split, which can be seen below. MDAM will be kicking off a tour with Cheap Girls and Diamond Youth on May 17 . Face to Face has announced another block of headlining dates in support of Three Chords and a Half Truth. The new shows will include Teenage Bottlerocket and Blacklist Royals .

Under the Gun Review is reporting on an update to the case of Austin Carlile from Of Mice and Men who was charged with assault earlier this month. Carlile's original charge of felonious assault was reduced to a misdemeanor by the judge and of this lesser charge he was found guilty. Altogether, he was asked to pay a $1000 fine and all court expenses; the judge left $800 suspended so all told, Austin left the court owing just $335. Check out the court documents here .
