RL Grime came through Atlanta for his second time to play a show at The Basement under Graveyard Tavern earlier this month. We talked to Henry about a project he's releasing with Fool's Gold, early influences, and his involvement in the We Did it Collective that's ran by Shlohmo and Nick Melon. It's not easy running two simultaneous projects, RL Grime and Clockwork, but the young LA native is making it seem effortless. Catch him on the Infinite Daps tour with Baauer, Jim E Stack, and Ryan Hemsworth. The post Interview: RL Grime [...]

I feel this post and every one to follow is coming as a necessity. We had a weekly mix that we used to do that we seem to have forgotten about so here I am here to reinstate it. Basically what this will be is a weekly re-cap of all our favorite tracks of the week, of any genre, new releases and the occasional re-discovered gem. This week's mix will be a collection of tracks from the past couple of weeks. Most noteworthy tracks are the three of my favorite songs off Random Access Memories , Baauer [...]

Clockworks popularity has sky-rocketed with the producer recently clocking (ha) 50,000 likes on his Facebook and thus leading the way to the 50K Bootleg pack, the third in the series! Like past bootleg packs each has certifiable, and at times autonomous club bangers with a variable menagerie of mash-ups that see's Tommy Trash and Aston Shuffle blended with Tiesto, Bingo Players with Carnage and Borgore, GTA, Digital Lab, Henrix face off again Empire Of The Sun and many many more - surprisingly he's avoided any clash with his alter-ego RL Grime. ... but [...]

Chicago's CHIEF KEEF is a rapper whose music has virtually blossomed since his 2011 hit titled 'Bang'. Having just released his debut studio album Finally Rich via Interscope in December of last year, non-record holders have been well equipped to the LP's singles, 'I Don't Like (feat. Lil Reese)' and 'Love Sosa'. Wedidit Collective's RL GRIME has gotten his hands on 'Love Sosa' by blending his own sound to the rap track through his recently released remix! It's basically the same track in terms of structure, however, RL Grimes has [...]

It's been a pretty interesting week reading all the Daft Punk album reviews that have been floating around. Some are calling it epic and "the new style of dance music" and others are calling it awful and a fall from grace for our beloved robots. I haven't had the opportunity to listen to the album as of yet, but I know from previous experience (audio, video, disco) that I shouldn't get my hopes up for something of old. We already know that this album doesn't have a single sample in it, so when I hear the album for the first [...]

Guy 1 - "Dude, Clockwork looks exactly like RL Grime, it's weird maaaan." Guy 2 - “You know those two acts are the same guy, right?" Have you ever been to a gig and un-cunningly not realised until about a year later that one producers is... well, actually another as well. We have collated a list of producers who are in fact more than just themselves, they are some other popular producer carving up some other dance genre at the same time. DJ Alter Ego List [...]

Chief Keef - Love Sosa (RL Grime Remix) Heavy artillery.

Check out this Interscope sanctioned remix of Chief Keef"s "Love Sosa" by RL Grime . According to The Fader "Love Sosa" was RL Grime's favorite track last year and Young Chop (producer of "Love Sosa") one of his favorite producers. Listen/download the track below and get the weekend started.

"Love Sosa" was the anthem last year. Even resulted in some great parodies like MJF's own Bauce Sauce 's "Love Oprah" and "Love Soda." RL Grime dropped a snippet of his "Love Sosa" remix months ago, but the final cut just surfaced online. Hear R.L. Is RL Grime our favorite trapster at the moment? He might be. The dude cranks out free tunes like it's easy (it probably is), and always hits on that epic horn style synth with those 808s hitting at exactly the right time. He's really honed in on his sound, which is a good thing considering how saturated the trap scene has become over the last 4-6 months. Although we're not huge fans of Chief Keef , in the end this is the kind of track that could get a crowd head bobbing and getting down, and we [...]

Let's be unequivocal: there is no way to top "Love Sosa." No matter whether you love or hate Chief Keef, it invalidates every argument you can have against his rise. Yes, most of his raps sound like he's speaking drillvish. Yes, he's about as lyrical as a Bazooka Joe comic. But he is as efficient and subtle as a bazooka. I'm glad we live in an era where a kid like Chance the Rapper can come up and not immediately need to exist as Keef's counterpoint. You can also probably unleash spiteful chants at a white dude who [...]
Here's a busy remix from RL Grime of the Chief Keef track "Love Sosa", in which the Los Angeles producer brings forth a whirlwind of raved up synths and a rambunctious beat. (Via The Fader)

RL Grime made this remix for Chief Keef, and he wants you to have it. But you can only have it if you download today. Hurry! Your weekend is going to be shit if you don't have this turnt up remake that transplants Keef vocals in an unnatural setting. It's not right, but it's pretty [...]
