Back in 2010, indie rap label Closed Sessions had a mad plan. Renting a mansion in Austin, they assembled the cream of up-and-coming rappers (including GLC, Curt@!n$, Yelawolf, Blu, Cyhi Da and Rakaa among others) to make, not a reality, show, but rather an entire album, start to finish, in one week. I've been trying to get into Shearwater of late but it's been a bit of a struggle. While I find their last couple of albums, Palo Santo and Rook , to be eminently listenable and quite enjoyable affairs, there just seems to be something missing, something that's stopping me from declaring myself a fully-fledged fan.
