Lamb of God Resolution Roadrunner Records 23 January 2012 by Tom Dare Lamb of God appear to have truly made it in the A-League of the metal world. The way you can tell is by the number of people who have either fallen over themselves to froth all over latest album Resolution or taken to the Internet to moan about it. You have to be doing rather well to please/piss off this many people. So who's [...]
Down Title s TBC Roadrunner Records ETA Summer 2012 What They're Saying Well, it's a bit of a cheat to call this an "album preview" - as what Down have got slated for release in 2012 isn't an album, but the first in a series of four EPs. The band have set [...]
Coheed and Cambria TBC Roadrunner Records ETA Summer 2012 What they're saying: Things have been looking on the topsy side of turvy in the Coheed and Cambria camp recently - and it's not just because Claudio Sanchez's hair is still beyond ridiculous. 2011 saw the band lose two members - bassist, Michael [...]
That's not a rhetorical question we're posing up there in the blog title. Having just watched Mastodon's latest video - this time for 'Dry Bone Valley' , the third single off of their superb fifth studio album, The Hunter - we can't help but think that the Mastodon boys might've blown the entire video budget for this album with the tits'n'trips antics of the 'Curl of the Burl' video. Think about it - 'Black Tongue' was officially the first single off the album, [...]

The band will also be playing a special one-off show at London's 100 Club for the Chinese New Year, to celebrate the beginning of the Year of the Dragon. A new Killswitch album has been in the demo stages since [...]
As we reported on Thursday , Howard Jones has left Killswitch Engage , the band he fronted for nine years. In a statement on the band's website, Jones further explains his reasons: "Well, I guess I will shed a little light without going too deep. As some of you may know, I've had a pretty interesting couple of years to say the least battling with some personal issues. One of the low points being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes that went unchecked for years. The rest of the band stuck with me through it, and to be honest [...]
Well, we had a fun 48 hours we had speculating as to why Howard Jones was seemingly booted out of Killswitch Engage , but now the former frontman has set the record straight with a statement released through the Killswitch Engage website. And it turns out the "real" reasons are a lot more mundane than anything to do with impregnated porn stars . Boo! Here's Howard's statement in full: Well, I guess I will shed a little light without going too deep. As some [...]

Airbourne Title TBC Roadrunner Records Release date TBC What they're saying: There's not too much to indicate we'll be hearing the follow up to 2009's No Guts No Glory in the near future, other than the fact that the Aussie rockers have been writing since last Summer. But we do know Airbourne [...]
In February of 1990, I xeroxed 2 pages of the New Yorker magazine, to hold onto what I considered one of the funniest pieces of writing ever. It was titled Coyote V. Acme and was penned by regular New Yorker writer and NJ resident, Ian Frazier . In a nutshell, and I'll post part of it after the jump, Wile E. Coyote, plaintiff sues the Acme Company for product liability and the injuries he sustained over his career at Warner Brothers Entertainment. It's written in legalese and describes so well some of the cartoons and [...]
Earlier today, those rambunctious Virginian s, Lamb of God, released the first full-length track from their forthcoming sixth* studio album, Resolutions. Now some of us here at Thrash Hits are what you could call 'hardcore fanboys' when it comes to Lamb of God, and others among us are a bit more on the tepid side of things -- [...]

While we still haven't gotten the promised Sea Sheapard EP that Gojira has already completed, the band has kickstarted the recording of another full-length record. Hey, I don't care if we get new Gojira music in EP form or LP form, just give me some new tunes. That one track was just a tease. The ...
A disgruntled Detroit Lions fan has begun a campaign to have the NFL side alter their music policy, as the televised "Thanksgiving Classic" game is due to feature a performance by Canadian act Nickelback between the second and third quarters. The fan, quoted on MSN Entertainment , had this to say: "This game is nationally televised, do we really want the rest of the U.S. to associate Detroit with Nickelback? Detroit is home to so many great musicians and they chose Nickelback?!?!?! Does anyone even like Nickelback? Is this some sort of [...]
After reporting this morning that Gojira were in NYC recording a new album and then speculating about what record label was funding the effort, the same anonymous Internet sleuth that tipped us off to the location of the recording sessions (Spin Studios in Queens) noticed a post on the Spin Studios Facebook page confirming that [...]
Hugh Platt can find something wrong with everything, because he's a moody little git. Just what is it about Machine Head's videos that's gotten him so irked? The short answer: Yes. Yes, they have. The long answer: Last week Machine Head released the video for their latest single, 'Locust', and it became their most recent entry [...]
The fine people in the Roadrunner new media department unearthed some awesome label footage from about 20 years ago. Watching these two clips makes you realize what a difference 20 years makes. A&R rep Monte Conner is featured prominently in both clips, talking about all the death metal bands the label signed at the time, ...
