We try our best not to post radio rips here, but this is something special. James Blake aired his new alias Harmonimix, recently on Radio One amongst a back to back set with Rob Da Bank. The flavour of the moment and award nominated producer expressed his palette of sounds in a formidable fashion. Playing the likes of techno/bass legends Joy Orbison, Tycho & Boddika. Amongst Lana Del Ray and Beyonce. This influence shines clearly through his music with a heavy electronic flavour that still leans further towards the radiosphere then club land. In [...]

London artist Charli XCX has been buzzing since she released her track Stay Away last summer. Support from the likes of Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw, Rob da Bank, Huw Stephens, Fearne Cotton and Pete Tong is one of the reasons we are looking at Charli XCX to have a big 2012. Check out the live version of her track, Stay Away .
Plus day tickets released for the colossal electronic festival...
Today, I have a firing mini mix from Zeds Dead for BBC Radio 1! Which I know will melt your face! This 20 minute mix starts off with their new tune, "Ruckus The Jam". It's great because their music is like a tropical monster. It's a mix of Electro, House, Trance, Jungle and filthy, filthy bass. Listen to this mix. It'll keep your ears wobbling and begging for more. Enjoy! Track Listing: Zeds Dead - Ruckus the Jam Zeds Dead - Rumble [...]

Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to see Zeds Dead on the second of their two night stay in Denver. Unfortunately, I was not able to write a review of this absolutely incredible show, due to Final Exams that week. However! Late last week, this dubstep duo created a sick mini-mix for Rob Da [...]

Image Courtesy of AIM© Last Thursday saw the inaugural Association of Independent Music (AIM) Awards take place at the Floridita in London's West End. Hosted by BBC Radio 1's Huw Stephens and Radio 6Music's Steve Lamaq, the evening saw the biggest and best people from the indie music scene being recognised for their work. This year's shinning star Adele won two awards; the amusingly named Best Difficult... Read more..

The end of summer is fast approaching, which means an end to the mud, cider and frolics of the festival season, the icing on the cake being Rob Da Bank's Bestival. But with the autumnal times there comes change, that change being me! As the new addition at HMCMB, I'll be joining the team to help keep you all on the 'cultural' ball. So...Hi..I'm Ruby, and armed with an Oxfam Steward pass and as much camping equipment as humanly possible to carry, I was ready for what the Isle of Wight had to throw at me. The first [...]

Come September, many of the revellers congregated on the Isle of Wight are already anxiously awaiting induction into the fantastical, if far from fantastic profligacy expected of the average student. However whilst Freshers' Weeks the length of what resident islanders may unnervingly refer to as the "the mainland" bafflingly promote the usage of bedsheets to be frequently romped upon and equally often worn as a tenuous imitation of a famed ancient Roman floor-length garment, sullied and shaken atop endless R'n'B, D'n'B, Guetta etc., the farewell party to the summer (and to the largely inconspicuous sun) that Rob da Bank's [...]

Saturday dawns in aptly spectacular fashion, as a trail of bloodshot eyes tumble towards the heart of a hammock-infested forest to bask in the mangled, mashed, and finely ground anecdotes of Howard Marks . Billed to unleash a dubstep DJ set, it transpires he's frequenting his seventh of the eight Bestival editions thus far to talk shit. Quite literally, as he opts to inform the congregated cross-legged multitude of the many reasons for which "turds" can be considered the currency of infantility, his target audience earlier on in the summer when he put his own marijuana-perfumed slant on [...]

I first heard Niki & The Dove on the Huw Stephens show back in November or so when he was playing 'Mother Protect' [mp3] on a regular basis and was blown away. Since then they've released 'DJ Ease My Mind' and 'The Fox' and are due to bring out some new material, including their debut album, in the next couple of months. Right now though, they're back with a new single 'Last Night', as previously heard on the Rob Da Bank show as part of their [...]

A wide-eyed wander from one peripheral extreme of the festival to the other takes in as many eateries as boasted by the eternally overcrowded and unfulfilling Camden Market (including a marquee the size of approximately five badminton courts put on by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall), besides Sly and Reggie and the Middle Class Soundsystem, who deliver bass-less dub from the back of a clapped-out old Morris Minor. A ghetto blaster-based march then snakes through the festival, as placards calling for everything from the proscription of IVF to the necessity for more hamster wheels in the world are hoisted high. [...]

Saturday witnesses the emergence of an army of Friar Tucks (largely barring bowl cuts) as sandy robes and naff plastic crosses outnumber bows, arrows and leafy tunics for the weekend's requisite fancy dress day, this time around of a Medieval persuasion. Whilst high-spiritedness remains all-pervasive for the duration, perhaps the merriest of men encountered while down towards the Dorset coast is Howard Marks , who takes full advantage of an early evening vetoing of live music for the sake of a local church service. Delivering warped takes on children's classics from Little Red Riding Hood to Alice in Wonderland, [...]
Enjoying the summer? For most of us, these few months offer an opportunity to unwind, go crazy, try new experiences and generally get away from our normal lives. Not so Rob Da Bank. As well as his work as a DJ on BBC Radio 1 and running the Sunday Best record label, he also heads two festivals - Bestival on the Isle of Wight and its family version Camp Bestival in Dorset later this month. It's all come along way from the days of running a Sunday night club in a Battersea tea room... [...]

"Lie Down In Darkness," the second single off of Moby 's recent Destroyed , drops August 16th as a digital download bundle available only through iTunes . Included are remixes of the track by some masters of electronic and house music, such as Arno Cost, Bassjackers, and Rob da bank. CoS is giving you an exclusive first listen at one such remix from the venerable Paul van Dyk. The track, which can be streamed below, is actually a radio edit of what promises to be a [...]

We've mentioned Cable and We Fear Silence before and we're going to mention them again.
