Take Vampire Weekend's producer and keyboardist Rostam Batmanglij, put him together with Ra Ra Riot's lead singer Wesley Miles - and you have Discovery. Discovery's heavy electronic sound is very upbeat, poppy, and pleasant on the ears. This collaboration's only studio album has the self-explanatory title of "LP". Discovery - Orange Shirt Download audio file (01-Orange-Shirt.mp3) The album includes a re-worked Ra Ra Riot song, as well as a Michael Jackson Cover. Ezra Koenig even makes a guest appearance on the track "Carby". [...]
Das Racist's free 2010 mixtapes had critics and fans scratching their heads over whether the trio were for real. The release of their official album 'Relax', while simultaneously resembling a series of elaborate in-jokes, suggests the trio are genuine enough. The Brooklyn band spit over a series of jagged beats produced by the likes of [...]

So we've made it to December... no more fall, no more November. We're about to be waist deep in mittens, holiday music on repeat, coke-cola polar bears and hopefully some J-mo spiked cider. To kick off this season-o-spiked-cider, we've got a jolly mix of tunes that will keep you warm until you finally bite the bullet and buy a winter coat after you lost your last one boozin too hard last February (or maybe that's just me.) <<<Download the Kick Kick Snare December Mixtape Here>>> Happy Holidays KickKickSnarers! Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend is back with more solo goodness. This one is grungier than his previous track, "Wood", but it sticks to VW's signature blends of textures and sounds. Enjoy! Don't Let it Get to You by ROSTAM — Basil
Rostam Batmanglij has been working on his own music apart from Vampire Weekend and Discovery these days and has just released a new track, Don't Let it Get to You. It's loud and destructive;...

Vampire Weekend's, Rostam Batmanglij, just posted a new track, "Don't Let It Get To You," on his Tumblr page. Don't Let It Get To You from Rostam Batmanglij

Rostam Batmanglij , the keyboardist, producer and multi-instrumentalist for indie rock band Vampire Weekend , has done his fair share of side projects, including electronic duo Discovery, which he formed with Ra Ra Riot's lead singer Wesley Miles. Just over a month ago, the musician released his first solo track, titled " Wood ," under the producer moniker of ROSTAM, and even produced the song "The Trick" on Das Racist 's debut studio album Relax . Today, the producer dropped another solo track, this time in the form of the song "Don't Let It Get To You." [...]

As we reported early last month, Vampire Weekend' s Rostam Batmanglij dropped his eastern-influenced track, "Wood" , for all the world to hear. Now, Rostam has dropped his latest track, "Don't Let It Get To You", via his Tumblr . The track can be compared to Batmanglij's Discovery project with the use of experimental instrumentals and vocal distortion. With the solo track count now at two, there is still no news if Batmanglij is planning on releasing his own solo album in the near future. Listen to "Don't Let It [...]

Last night I was listening to a friend's radio show on CHUO FM . He played a song by Rostam called Don't Let It Get To You. Rostam Batmanglij for those not familiar he plays in the band Vampire Weekend. I am guessing the band is on a break for the moment. Since I am in a like/dislike moment from Vampire Weekend. Seems like he is doing a solo project and hasn't been signed to a label yet. Listening to Don't Let It Get [...]
One of the best things about Vampire Weekend is their self-awareness – fully cognizant of the myriad detractors who criticize their songs for being an '00s rehashing of Paul Simon's Graceland , frontman Ezra Koenig covered the man himself and dropped on 2010's Contra the not-so-vague lyric "and I'm gonna take it from Simon." The band's resident multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer Rostam Batmanglij is as pop-culturally voracious as his bandmates, so it's no wonder his latest solo effort "Don't Let It Get To You" (this one follows up "Wood" [...]
Here comes another solo cut from Vampire Weekend's Rostam Batmanglij, building off of that unique sound of "Wood", which was released just a month ago. "Don't Let It Get To You" comes by way of Rostam's tumblr , hopefully a place that becomes a source for a number of fabulous tracks in the future. Hit the skip to stream "Don't Let It Get To You". I got very weary of Vampire Weekend real quick after the release of their debut album back in 2008. Suddenly they became the fad band where frat boys started listening and singing along, that's when I knew it was time to jumped ship. Luckily we now have from fresh and original songs as a side project. Rostam Batmanglij (greatest name ever) is an artist, photographer, multi-instrumentalist and producer for Vampire Weekend who on the side creates beautiful worldly music with heavy influences from his native Iran. "Wood" was a few weeks ago to great acclaim and just yesterday [...]

Were u wondering what ur favourite alt celebs were 4 Halloween? Sorta wish I coulda gone to a relevant Halloween Partie where I saw tons of alt celebs, DJs, and CEOs of buzzbands :-( At least I can look at pix of them on the internet and pretend they are my friends and pretend we went out and had fun and ate candy. :-) [...]

Rostam Batmanglij , the producer/multi-instrumentalist of Vampire Weekend , has released another new track titled "Don't Let It Get To You," a whimsical, multi-faceted piece of electronic music that blends together woodwinds and snares among a flurry of other sounds. This is the second song that he's released, with the first being " Wood ." Together, the two songs paint a picture of how complex of a musician Rostam is, especially when you consider that he went from Vamp Wknd to this. Though not much has been said what these two will amount it, it doesn't make them less [...]

I love this. Whilst Vampire Weekend are busy working on that difficult third album, and the follow up to the über successful Contra , the band's multi-instrumentalist and music-degree wielding Rostam Batmanglij is releasing a stream of terrific solo songs. 'Don't Let It Get To You' went up on his Tumblr today, following in the footsteps of 'Wood', which appeared on there sometime last month, but I only went and bloody missed it. Is that tribal snare drum groove a sample? Either way, it's a head-bobber. [...]

Last time we checked in with VW's Rostam Batmanglij he was releasing his first solo single , "Wood." Well, the D.C.-born instrumentalist is back with a new track, "Don't Let It Get To You," which he shared on his tumblr a few hours ago. The song sounds like the love child of Discovery-his side-project with Ra Ra Riot's Wes Miles-and "Obvious Child" by Paul Simon. As in, I'm pretty sure he may have sampled the drum line from Simon's iconic track off of the criminally underrated Rhythm of the Saints . [...]
