The Immortals was de derde single die de Kings Of Leon uitbrachten van hun album Come Around Sundown. Dit album is de opvolger van het belachelijke succes Only By The Night (met de hits Sex On Fire en Use Somebody). Zelf heb ik Back Down South van het album nog wel op de radio gehoord, [...]
A new year is here on Like Sugar. I wanted a first post for 2012, so I'll go with this. I slept through midnight somehow. Gunfire woke me up at 12: 20 p.m. oddly enough. Here is remix that should have played last night: Röyksopp vs Thin White Duke - What Else Is There (Neon Stereo 2012 Refix) by neonstereo

Throughout 2011 we have been offering you lots of free music. Here is La.Ga.Sta.'s most downloaded tracks of the year. It's no surprise that Magician's remix of Lykke Li's "I Follow Rivers" is top of the list. A huge remix that you can still hear coming out loud from the car stereos. There are some great tunes in there as well, from Rapture, M83 and Washed Out to Mylo, Discodeine, and Poolside. Not to mention Villa's take on Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" - another exclusive track from La.Ga.Sta. This is yours Top 20 chart. Fill it up (one more [...]

It's that time of year! Let it snow, Christmas only comes but once a year... we've heard it all year after year, including the Jackson 5 singing about mommy kissing Santa Claus and Mariah hitting those splitting decibels on her overplayed Christmas album. Presumably, you are reading this because you recognize the value of "other" music - music that may not have hit your local airwaves or MTV yet. Why not include Christmas as well? This Friday, we are taking a moment to give you five songs to save your musical sanity this holiday season. Take [...]

Well, if I've never mentioned before; I'm doing my Masters in Science and I'm getting close to completing it aka shit's hitting the fan. I just finished my big presentation, so all is calm for now until I have to start writing my thesis. Before any of that, holidays come first and the blog just got pushed back to near the top. Listening to music again, I actually haven't really listened to much other than the big albums that came out recently for the last month. First time listening to Hype Machine in a while and [...]
Kings of Leon will forever be one of my favorite bands. I discovered them during the first wave of awakening that Only By The Night caused. Went back and appreciated all of their older work. Anxiously waited for Come Around Sundown and couldn't stop pressing repeating. "The Immortals" is one of my favorite songs by them. I feel like they poured their souls into that hook. Röyksopp released their rare remix of the track a couple days ago. It's a 9 minute frenzy of everything backward, forward, and sideways. Leaving [...]
Röyksopp has given "Immortals" from Kings of Leon the remix treatment and it turns the vocals into an auto tuned light little number that rolls down your back like welcome water on a hot summer day. Give it a listen below and let us know what you think of it. Kings of Leon - The Immortals (Röyksopp Remix) by ryxp

Round out your Monday with Royksopp's nicely chopped up version of "The Immortals". The Norwegian duo maintains their feel good soft cheery electro style in this airy remix. Röyksopp: SOUNDCLOUD | FACEBOOK
We've posted a shed-load of Röyksopp this year with their track of the month a firm favourite of ours for a while now - check out their rare remix of King of Leon's 'The Immortals', which was only sent out to a limited number of people who purcheased "Talihina Sky" documentary by October 31 via US iTunes. There's no way around it: 2011 was an astoundingly good year in pop music. Not since the 2007 reign of Kylie 's X , Britney 's Blackout , Rihanna 's Good Girl Gone Bad and Girl's Aloud 's Tangled Up has there been such a strong showing in pop: We found love in the most hopeless of places, hung onto a moment and danced to the beat of our drums 'til the world ended (well, until next year anyway.) As per usual, I've hemmed and [...]

Kings of Leon were definition of Indie/Alt rock in 2010, and their reign as emperor is yet to end. Röyksopp has reigned supreme for the better part of the past decade as one of the more respectable electronic artists around. When you combine the two, the result is an unthinkable cocktail of guitar, spliced vocals, catchy beats and euphoria. Röyksopp's remix of King's of Leon's hit track "Immortals" is a unique combination of Electronica, Alternative Rock and Arcade-esk synths that puts Caleb Followill 's soulful vocals through a T-Pain-Autobot-Transformati on with just the right amount of auto-tunes vigor. Check out the track [...]

Unless you're getting excited about the X-Factor winner's inevitable Christmas release, or happy to step on the band-wagoning, anti-Cowell, counter-single, usually of something equally as pointless, then you can consider December something of graveyard when it comes to discovering new music. Now that the BBC Sound Of 2011 Poll has been announced, most record labels, PR firms, or self-promoting artists are now going to wait until the new year before pushing any serious, new contenders our way. It's understandable, as Christmas retail is for the mass market and the various commentators on music also need holidays too. It's [...]
