Valentine's Day is just around the corner. For music fans, that means being serenaded by power ballads, slow jams and schmaltzy love-song dedications every time you turn on the radio. But what if Cupid's arrow whizzed straight past you this year and hit someone else? Nobody wants to hear "The Power Of Love" while heating up a TV dinner for one. Happily, we're here to provide you with a selection of vastly less-depressing alternatives. No matter if you're single by choice, brokenhearted, bitter or just resigned to living alone with 10 cats, there's a song to get you through [...]

Poor Ruben Studdard. His divorce inspired his lead Letters From Birmingham (out March 11) offering "June 28th (I'm Single)" , and despite the fact that he's letting all the ladies know he's back on the market, he still seems pretty broken up. (Check the words "I miss you" written in the sand at the very end of the song's video.) Sure, the Velvet Teddybear's clip lacks in high production values. But the Season 2 American Idol champ makes up for that with heart. Watch below! [...]
If one post on the day wasn't good enough, peep this infamous Ruben Studdard ballad, chopped and screwed by Friendzone. They're also responsible for "Chuch" and "Perfect Skies" on Main Attrakionz' 8082s & Dark Grapes II mixtape. Yes, I'm going to post this on every blog ever. Follow @JKRealize

Billboard notes a slew of achievements Scotty McCreery has pulled off with his debut LP Clear As Day , not the least of which is the fact that he's the first American Idol winner since Ruben Studdard (in 2003) to land their debut album at #1 on the Top 200 chart. The North Carolina crooner embarked on a series of high-profile promotional appearances last week behind his album, which sold 197,000 copies. At [...]

American Idol is celebrating a decade on the air by releasing a greatest hits compilation called American Idol 10th Anniversary — The Hits . The biggest problem (besides there being nary one Jennifer Hudson song) is that the term "hits" is about as appropriate a word to use as "stars" is on Dancing With The Stars . Jump below to find out what songs and artists Fox considers a success. Here's what you get on American Idol 10th Anniversary — The Hits ... a bunch of songs you probably already [...]

Welcome Home , a documentary following the winners of American Idol , popped up over the weekend without much fanfare — and even stranger, the Fox-approved doc isn't drowning in cheesiness (or Coca-Cola and Ford product placement). The half-hour special features interviews with all nine Idol winners, from Kelly Clarkson to Lee DeWyze, as well as their parents, siblings and grade school music teachers. It's an interesting look into the process of auditioning for the competition, surviving it, and managing your career once you've won it. Jump below for the full vid. [...]

It's been a week now since Lee DeWyze was crowned the winner of American Idol Season 9 , and we still can't get out of our head how happy and pure of full joy the former paint salesman looked upon hearing Ryan Seacrest announce his name. We're jumping back in time to rate the reactions of all nine Idol champs upon discovering they were the next American Idol. Points [...]

"Ryan, you are really starting to annoy me." Simon Cowell , you took the words right out of my mouth. In a night full of uncomfortable filler conversation and, oh yeah, voting results, Ryan Seacrest finally drove me nuts. Over the years, I've enjoyed Ryan's efficiency and good natured spirit as the host of American Idol . However, something has been a bit off all season and tonight, it finally occurred to me: Ryan is crazy! Or maybe he's on some crazy uppers? Perhaps some Hydroxycut as the rumors state? I'm thinking [...]

A slimmed-down Ruben Studdard (he lost 100 lbs, y'all!) hit up The Wendy Williams Show yesterday and gave his opinions on, among other things, the current season of American Idol . Particularly, he talked about Paula Abdul's absence. "They asked, will she survive without American Idol ," Ruben said. "I think American Idol should ask the question: will it survive without Paula Abdul?" Zing! Watch the Velvet Teddybear's full interview—where he talks about how he lost the extra padding he was packing—and his performance of "Don't Make [...]

Simon Cowell may have just rendered the biggest judgment call of his career with his decision to bid farewell to American Idol . But what is his real legacy as a talent spotter? American Idol season 2 winner Ruben Studdard is in trouble with the law, more specifically the IRS. According to court records, the singer has failed to pay almost $200,000 in state and federal taxes. It turns out that he owes $171,920 in unpaid federal income taxes and $21,730 in state income taxes, with the majority of the unpaid taxes coming for 2003 when he won the show. You'd think that after winning his million dollar contract on AI, he would have gotten himself a good accountant. I'm not even sure if he still has some money. In 2006, Ruben sued [...]
