Some of you might remember the name Honkeyfinger from way, way back when he was the 25th entry in our Future Hits column . Well, he's got together with some of his friends to create a new night of "face melting heavy swamp psych rock" by the name of Greasy Noise, the first of which kicks off on Saturday night right here in London. Playing live on the opening night are Bad Guys , Honkeyfinger , and Xaviers (who feature two members of Bo Ningen and one [...]

The post Daft Punk ad during Saturday Night Live appeared first on LessThan3 .

Yes indeed, folks, it looks like Daft Punk will make their grand return (hopefully) very soon. During last night's Saturday Night Live episode, a 15-second clip appeared featuring a funky new track from the French duo. No word yet on what the song's called, if it's off their new album or not, etc... but it definitely sounds good. By the way, those "rumors" that they signed with Sony/Columbia to release their next LP? Yeah, they were true. Watch the clip below.
During the famous weekly airing of Saturday Night Live, a brief and mysterious Daft Punk ad made television. Clocking in at a mere 15-seconds, the ad isn't revealing, but is just enough to build the on the already mounting anticipation. The clip features a short snippet of what may be a possible new track, and the new helmet graphic debuted with the announcement that they will be releasing an album on Columbia . You just finished reading Daft Punk ad airs during Saturday Night Live, potential new music builds anticipation ! [...]

Thats right people, for thsoe of you who watched S aturday Night Live last night it is likely you caught a glance at the intriguing new ad that was played, featuring the men of the moment DAFT PUNK . This brief yet hugely exciting advertisement featured a sparkling DAFT PUNK logo glistening onto a black screen, which then led to the following image of the two famous helmets that has been sending everyone crazy after it was uploaded onto the duo's Facebook page last [...]
It wasn't until Macklemore and his partner and chart-topping crime Ryan Lewis hit up SNL on Saturday (March 2) night that we realized how much like a Lonely Island song “Thrift Shop” really is. Somehow, while watching Ben Haggerty flailing around in his red get-up and buckled shoes, the whole Macklemore crew — including a horn section and guest vocalists Wanz (on "Thrift Shop") and Ray Dalton ("Can't Hold Us") — seemed to be at home on the show's stage. "We're on live [...]

Posted in Music Box J'aime beaucoup cette chanson / Fine Music Selection & Homemade Mixes.
Buxton Continental Club February 23, 2013 Buxton's songs project an odd kind of innocence for a band that has been getting pretty seasoned the past couple of years. It's been five since they app... Continue reading "Saturday Night: Buxton at the Continental Club" >

If you're anything like me, you might be sitting at home right now eating buffalo wings and wondering to yourself: Say, what's Madonna doing tonight? Don't worry. Now that the Queen of Pop's got Instagram, we know exactly what she's doing with her Saturday night: Trying on a Bettie Page wig, applying a thick coat of scarlet lipstick and striking a pose for the camera. Stars-they're just like us! (She looks fucking gorgeous, no? Those eyes! Like a dominatrix version of "Rain.") M's been a straight-up Insta-holic ever since she [...]

Samantha Crain - Photo by Keisha Register I have been a fan of Samantha Crain's music for a while and I don't think I talk about her enough. She has a new album called Kid Face (I believe a reference to the fact that she is often perceived as younger than she is) and it has some pretty great tunes. She strikes me as the kind of person that I would want to know before I even knew her, ya know? I don't even know why I think this but I just do. It isn't odd [...]

Salty Artist Management is presenting a special "Saturday Night Soirée" on February 23 at the Noise Pop-Up Shop , featuring live performances from rising Bay Area synth-pop bands Religious Girls and Pale Blue Dot , as well as DJ sets from YR Skull and the two lads behind the nascent management team, Chris & Chad Salty (née Chris Crowley and Chad Heimann). Opening the show will be the brand new [...]

Justin Timberlake is making it as clear as possible to the world that his new album, The 20/20 Experience , is dropping March 19. How is he doing this, you ask? Well, he's been performing at every award show he can and he just announced he'll appear on Saturday Night Live and Late Night With Jimmy Fallon . JT will serve as the host and musical guest on SNL on March 9 while he will perform for five days in a row on Fallon (March 11-15). Seriously, dude is going all [...]

Last night, you could have watched Alabama Shakes play the same song from two different settings on two different television channels at the same exact time. That's because the band's episode of Austin City Limits aired simultaneously with Saturday Night Live, where the band appeared as musical guest. Brittany Howard and Co. ripped through their standout single "Hold On" and a newer song titled "Always Alright" on SNL . Meanwhile, their ACL setlist included five songs: "Hold On", "Always Alright", "You Ain't Alone", "I Ain't the Same", [...]

A little less than two years after Alabama Shakes burst onto the music landscape thanks to Brittany Howard's impassioned vocals and the band's hard-nosed blues-rock, the group made their Saturday Night Live debut last night. The Shakes first performed a powerful version of Hold On and then offered a groovy take on Always Alright from the Silver Linings Playbook soundtrack as their second song. If you missed last night's episode, we've got you covered... [HD] Alabama Shakes - Hold On [...]

Yesterday, Mr. Obenschain gave y'all a preview snippet of the Saturday Day Session of the East Nashville Underground Festival. But now it's time for all the marbles, for the cat's pajamas, for the win, for the children, for the future, and most importantly sobriety! This is the final countdown. Translation: This final session of the Winter 2013 East Nashville Underground Festival is going to be Epic, possibly more so than the Faith No More song of the same name. Go check it out at the East Room on Gallatin Ave, right by that [...]

There is a significant debate going on in the United States today regarding gun control. I won't bore you with the specifics of this debate, or my position regarding the debate, but it has reminded me of a related discussion involving Lynyrd Skynyrd back in the 1970s. In 1975, the group released their Nuthin Fancy album which featured a song called Saturday Night Special. Let's listen...... I think the meaning of this song was pretty clear....get rid of "Saturday Night Specials"! Note: Saturday Night Special is a slang term for cheap handguns [...]
