Over a year after she delivered two pitchy performances (of her Teenage Dream title song and "California Gurls" ) on Saturday Night Live , Katy Perry is once again returning to NYC for the show — this time to host. The good news is that, with her California Dreams Tour nearly completed, any stage fright the pink-haired American Music Awards performer had should be obliterated by now. Katy's comedy chops will be put to the ultimate SNL test on the December 10 episode. And, total bonus: [...]
Apparently, the members of Korn are of the mentality that if you can't beat 'em, you join 'em. And not in a sheepish, let's-get-in-line-behind-these -trendsetters way. No, no. They have the abili... Continue reading "Saturday Night: Korn At Verizon Wireless Theater" >
On Saturday evening Florence & The Machine made their second ever appearance on Saturday Night Live . The performances on the show were in support of the recently release Ceremonials and with them brought along renditions of the two lead singles from the LP. First up, at the top you can enjoy "Shake It Out" whilst after the jump you can enjoy "No Light, No Light". Thanks to The Audio Perv for the video support.
Saturday Night Live got a dose of Florence Welsh and her Machine when they came to play two tracks from their sophomore album, Ceremonials . Up top you can watch the band play "Shake It Out" and down below, you'll be treated to "No Light, No Light". Granted, Welsh didn't treat the crowd to any flowing, arm-waving dance moves during this performance but it's still a good one to watch.

Better than: Seeing Paradise City, KC's own GN'R tribute band, perform at the P&L. In the early '90s, music video director Andy Morahan cemented the image of Guns N' Roses in videos for songs on the band's Use Your Illusions I and II albums. Incredibly sexy, pouty women surrounded the shirtless Sunset Strip staples.… [ Read more ] [ Subscribe to the comments on this story [...]
Maybe it's a failing of our own energy and spirit that's to blame for a history of apathy for Yellowcard. When we discovered the band we were in the last of a desperate attempt to patch things u... Continue reading "Saturday Night: Yellowcard" >

We were initially pretty thrown off by the lineup for the Davila 666 show at Mango's on Saturday night. It was mixed bag of indie pop openers and rock 'n roll headliners. We're all about diver... Continue reading "Saturday Night: Davila 666 at Mango's" >
It's perhaps unfair to say Taylor Swift has "snuck up" on us, considering she's sold over 20 million albums and was featured on just about every one of last year's "top entertainer" lists. But t... Continue reading "Saturday Night: Taylor Swift At Minute Maid Park" >

Dawes, Mumford and Sons and Feist played Saturday evening at World Cafe Live for the World Cafe 20th anniversary tribute concert . Mumford and Sons opened the show with four songs (including a cover of Neil Young's "Dance Dance Dance" and new song called "Ghosts That We Knew") then brought Dawes out to join them for two more songs including the new "Awaken My Soul." Dawes finished up their set by inviting Mumford and Sons out for a high energy version of Dawes' "When My Times Comes." We'll have more pictures and audio from the show tomorrow. Below, some [...]

Lucinda Williams is performing tomorrow night in Allentown at the Allentown Symphony Hall, and she’ll also be at the Keswick on Saturday night. However, she also wanted to be a part of the World Cafe 20th Anniversary shows, so she is going to be making a special appearance playing an acoustic set on Saturday night at World Cafe Live, opening for Dawes and Feist. Having Lucinda be a part of this night is going to be amazing—but!—there’s still going to be another (as yet unannounced) special guest. (Stay tuned for details about that...)
