SBTRKT is back at it reworking dope tracks into even doper tracks.

Almost out of nowhere, Masked producer extraordinaire  SBTRKT  dropped a beefed up edit of R&B Crooner  Lonny Breaux's   Frank Ocean 's stellar " Whip Appeal " yesterday and made my day. It's a subtle edit that a some listeners might not pick up on initially, with a few low key synth additions and that signature SBTRKT afrobeat -like drum layering in the breakdown, that only serves to enhance the already stellar production on the track rather than take it in a different direction. It's a great Midday treat. [...]

The masked man SBTRKT recently took to one of Frank Ocean's random releases, and adds his sought after remix touch to the already addictive original. We've been getting a couple of unreleased tracks from Frank Ocean in the past few days, but here SBTRKT revisits an old(er) one. This edit of "Whip Appeal" is what SBTRKT considers as "just some beefed up production over an already dope track," which is like calling heroin is "just" another drug. But modesty is cute, I guess. With the flurry of leaks hit the web, Frank Ocean has got to be at least a little bit pissed. To hopefully cheer him up, SBTRKT has whipped up a saucy remix to "Whip Appeal". Giving it the intense percussion and uptempo bass, the Ocean single now has some signature UK-producer flare. While I absolutely all the work SBTRKT has done with Sampha, I wouldn't mind an official collaboration between these two. Might just be a match made in heaven.
