SBTRKT is in the running for the album of the year, and rightfully so. His self-titled debut full-length made waves earlier in the year, even earning him some love from T-Dot MC, Drake. Earlier today we got to see Frank Ocean make his London debut via some lovely fan shot videos at the XOYO. Over the weekend though, it would appear that UK producer SBTRKT took to his Soundcloud page and uploaded a remix of Frank's "Thinking Bout You" which can be heard in full below. It’s indicative of Frank Ocean’s rapidly rising star that sketchy-quality YouTube videos of a handful of new tracks he performed at a London show Friday night are the stuff of blog fervor. We’re waiting on better quality versions to make a final judgement, but “Disillusioned” and “Real Love” pretty effortlessly follow in the smooth R&B footsteps Ocean’s been gaining a lot of attention treading. You know we weren't going to let this one get past us. Drumma Boy's remix of " Wildfire " features three of this year's best artists on a track that crosses genres and exceeds expectations. The Memphis-based rapper-producer irons out the wrinkles but maintains the groovy vibe and the pulsing bass, leaving a perfect pocket for Shabazz Palaces to spit hopeless romantic. If you're anything like us, you loved SBTRKT's self-titled album , too. And there's a good reason for your adoration that goes beyond the masked-producer's fan-fucking-tastic production. Sampha , a singer who hails from the U.K., knows damn well how to complement SBTRKT's icy style. The vocalist also apparently has some chops when it comes to working as a solo artist, which he displays wonderfully on this demo track, "Indecision". It should go without saying that we're really looking forward to hearing how this one sounds in its finished form. [ via ] [...]
