Noah contacted me through the blog ... and I immediately actioned the dopeness that is about to unfold before your eyes : This 8 piece band fronted by Noah Sacré, complete with brass ensemble delivers some crazy 602s style Hip-Hop music. The band is called  Almighty Planets . They currently have a cover version of SBTRKT 's 'Wildfire' on show and plenty more in the pipeline. Earlier today, Jessie Ware released a video of an acoustic take of her Bobby Caldwell cover, "What You Won't Do For Love". Shot in a small candlelit flower shop in San Francisco, the piece opens with her sharing a bit on what draws her to the song, and her favorite emotions in the music she enjoys. Ross Anderson a supervisé ce clip aux FX assez costauds, le NSFW est de rigueur pour les âmes sensibles qui seront sûrement surprises de voir ça derrière le titre d'un morceau de Subtrakt . SBTRKT is the only one who can get away with releasing a music video for a track nearly two years after releasing the project, specifically because he's released only one full [...]

SBTRKT 's self-titled debut dropped over a year ago, but it looks like Young Turks and XL Recordings thought they could squeeze a little more out of the stunning release. Taking to the Sampha-featured single "Trials Of The Past", Generator, Northern Film & Media and Dustfarm tack on a rather grim visual experience. With just two characters being the focus, a young lady is deconstructed by a menacing barber, and built back with all sorts of mechanical parts. The significance is up for interpretation, I suppose, but quite the creative effort nonetheless. Watch the video below.

Hay dos buenas razones para volver a escribir sobre SBTRKT aqui en la Heladeria: numero uno, volvió estos dias con un albúm live (una raridad por estos tiempos!), para los que como yo tuvieran la oportunidad de verlo, es completamente justificado - muchas son las sensaciones del año que llegan al palco y bien... nada de bueno a decir! Para recordar el por qué de lo que digo, y aqui tenemos a la segunda razón, vean su nuevo y asombroso video:

Here's the gruesome, new video for SBTRKT' s "Trials of the Past", where cyborgs are dismembered in a barbershop. It's super bloody and I feel bad for the guy who had to mop it all up after closing.

Durante junio del 2011 SBTRKT lanzó su álbum homónimo y de ahí precisamente se desprende el sencillo “Trails of the Past” -donde colabora Sampha -, que hace algunos días estrenó video. Bajo la dirección de Ross Anderson , una chica es la protagonista en esta historia, que bien parece una película de ciencia ficción hollywoodense.
