A$AP Ferg follows up the release of his "Work" remix last night by premiering the video. On paper, the song reads like a smash, when you see all of the young gunners - A$AP Rocky, French Montana, Trinidad Jame$ and ScHoolboy Q - listed together. But did the hype and prolonged wait outdo the actual finished product on this one? Or is it a simple case of ScHoolboy, working under the TDE motto of killing every beat in sight, completely running circles around everyone else involved?
No less than 24 hours after dropping his star-studded remix for "Work" , ASAP Ferg has shared its corresponding video. Watch as Ferg, ASAP Rocky , ScHoolboy Q , Trinidad James , and French Montana rap (and get some sugar) from a warehouse. Ferg's debut mixtape, Trap Lord , is due out Memorial Day (May 27th).
A$AP Ferg's "Work" was fine and all, but now it's gotten an absolutely huge (if your measuring the length of the featuring list) remix. Fellow A$APer Rocky , Schoolboy Q, French Montana and Trinidad James hop onto the song which has a big enough beat to comfortably accomodate all five rappers. It nails the "we're big and don't give a fuck" vibe, so well in fact that you might actually find yourself paying attention to Ferg after listening, if only for a few minutes. Check it out below. And now he's lined up an odd crew of famous rappers to appear on the remix, and what's really interesting is the way recently-minted pop-rap stars French Montana and Trinidad James get just as unhinged as internet-rap big dogs Rocky and Schoolboy Q. And it served as one of the ridiculously hype standouts, thanks in part to Ferg's oddly endearing trap lord absurdity. Now, the track receives the essential posse cut-esque remix treatment with some of his contemporaries: French Montana (ugh), Trinidad Jame$ (meh), ScHoolboy Q (hooray!), and A$AP Rocky (ok).
