With many versions of "U.O.E.N.O." surfacing across the net, and for good reason considering the memorable production, but you'll notice the newest and greatest remix [...]
With last year's blaring, anthemic underground hit " Work ," A$AP Ferg became the first non-Rocky A$AP Mob member to break out. And now he's lined up an odd crew of famous rappers to appear on the remix, and what's really interesting is the way recently-minted pop-rap stars French Montana and Trinidad James get just as unhinged as internet-rap big dogs Rocky and Schoolboy Q. Overall, it's a pretty great piece of hard, messy, '90s-style headknock-rap. Listen to the remix below. Read More...
Definitely one of the most hyped cuts around, A$AP Ferg finally blesses the world with the remix of "Work" featuring French Montana, Trinidad Jame$, ScHoolboy Q & A$AP Rocky. The video for the tune premieres tomorrow on BET and VEVO. Check the clip below to hear Ferg explain to MTV why he chose the four featured artists for the remix. Dime: Mr. North
FACT: It's a great time to be a fan of hip hop. The emergence of artists such as Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, and A$AP [...]
Q has been making his radio rounds as he prepares his newest LP Oxymoron , and he recently checked in with the big homie Sway. The interview produces classic conversation from the two; as Q shares that the Schoolboy Q strain of OG Kush he purchased at a medical club is horrible, and to make matters worse the clerk didn't even know who he was servicing. The interview took an interesting turn when Q took questions from a couple caller, one being solely about Q working with Chance. Def pumped for this. Watch below. [...]
Remember last month when we made a hand-wringing post about the death of the MP3 and thereby the end of the downloadable Monthly Mix? Well, fuck it - ZIP FILE BACK. Thank you for your comments and opinions! This is blog-in-action. But, we know some of you enjoyed the ease and increased songchoice represented by our Spotify playlist, and so guess what SPOTIFY BACK too. And we ALSO realize some of you can't/won't access Spotify but also want to see a playlist that isn't limited just to MP3s because that can be arbitrarily restrictive with respect to the [...]
So ScHoolboy Q got announced as an XXL Freshman today, and I think that is great - besides the fact I would consider him a solid junior, waiting to make a commitment to bring him the next level. Either way, Q has been on fire as of late , and today he stopped through Funk Flex's show and gave him some crucial Q bars, over Redman's ‘Tonights The Night’. Ayeeee. Stream below
Today, I'd like to bring back a post that I started back in 2011 titled Case of The Mondays. On a gloomy, cold day to start the week, with no NCAA tournament to get you the work day, we decided to feature 10 of our favorite tracks that came out in the last week. With tracks coming from Freddie Gibbs, ScHoolboy Q, Rustie, Sholomo, Dally Auston and more this weeks COTM, should definitely get you through today. Check the playlist below as we look to not feature the same batch of artists & styles each week. Let us know who [...]
After hitting us with the somewhat official remix of "Bitch Don't Kill My Vibe" featuring the legendary Jay-Z, and today with ScHoolboy Q releasing his [...]
Kendrick Lamar might be the most exciting rap breakout of the past year, but his excitable and gravelly Black Hippy crewmate Schoolboy Q also made a pretty excellent album last year in Habits And Contradictions . And today, for the first time, we get to hear a track from the follow-up. The frequent Drake collaborator Boi-1da produced "Yay Yay," Q's new single, and it's a tough but scattered track with an awesomely seasick synth-lurch and a beautifully unhinged vocal performance. Listen below. Read More...

Hey, another Black Hippy posse cut! I'll take it! The four members of the furiously creating L.A. rap crew - Kendrick Lamar, Schoolboy Q, Jay Rock, Ab-Soul) don't all rap on the same song too often. But three of them showed up on Kendrick Lamar's " The Heart Pt. 3 ," which we already posted today. And on the physical version of Kendrick's new album Good Kid, m.A.A.d. City that's available at Target, all four of them rap on a remix of Kendrick's sloshed, introspective single " Swimming Pools (Drank) ." Hear it below. Read More...
Damn. It has been a long time coming for CurT@!n$. I used to follow his music religiously and then he took a little bit of an absence but now he comes back with one hell of a punch. We even had CurT@!n$ on some of our blog sponsored collective mixtapes back in the day and I couldn't put one out before I got him on there. RutHLe$$ is just another banger to add to the collection from CurT@!n$ and it seems like ScHoolboy Q is making the best of his increase in popularity and is jumping on as much music as he can [...]
Mac Miller decided to let go of a freebie over his twitter teaming up with TDE's own ScHoolboy Q on PlaneCarBoat. I sort of understand the meaning behind the title, which I think is hinting at the superman phrase but as to how it makes sense as a song who knows. But it features Mac Miller & ScHoolboy Q who both rip it on the track and it also showcases Mac Miller's improving skills on the production side of the music.
