Here's something new on Broken Records by Canada's Scribble & Nagwoode. This is dark breaks, perhaps even a bit breakbeat, with strings. Love the wobbly atmosphere the original mix generates. There's a whole bunch of remixes, of which this one was the pick. Snug takes it off into a crisp, perky dnb direction. The School - Let It Slip Welsh eightpiece The School mix 50s/60s pop stylings with some very modern Mark Ronson-esque effects - dainty keys, electro jingles and a general smoothness. Het nieuwe album van Underworld heeft nog niet eens een naam, laat staan een releasedatum, maar toch werden de fans gisteren al getrakteerd op een voorproefje. De eerste track van het nieuwe album, dat wel ergens dit jaar gaat verschijnen, heet "Scribble" en er is inmiddels ook een video beschikbaar. Bovendien is het nummer gratis van hun site af te halen. Mijn eerste indruk: een catchy feel-good track dat ondanks het gebruik van breaks toch onmiskenbaar klinkt als Underworld. Laat dat nieuwe album maar komen dus!
