I've always struggled with words around Hey Rosetta! , which might be the reason this post is so late in going up. Three records in, they've become one of the most reliable acts in Canada over the past few years, consistently delivering quality work on everything they do. I've always loved their stuff, but I've never loved-loved it, you know? I buy the records, I go to the shows, I sing along to all the songs, but they've never managed to sink their hooks in deep enough to stick with me in the way so many other artists that [...]
Brand new video from Cincinnati band The Seedy Seeds. In black and white with a bit of an old show or newscast feel, "I Am The Conductor" is extremely catchy. Ever heard an electronic band with a banjo? I'd imagine not. Check these guys out.

The Seedy Seeds The Seedy Seeds have released the official video for "I Am The Conductor" from their album, Verb Noun which was released in March 2011. Watch the video in this post. The Cincinnati-based band's video was shot by Anthony Francis Moorman.

Never has folky electropop seemed so badass. The Seedy Seeds - Verb Noun
ENS just debuted this new video from Cinci's The Seedy Seeds. It's a well-done video with a good idea behind it. Can't wait to catch them the next time they come through Lexington!

Our friends The Seedy Seeds are always up to something, and usually that something is creating some new musical art for our enjoyment. Today is no exception, as the Seeds have been hard at work on the latest video in their growing library. This time around, it's a vid for the song "I Am A Conductor" and it might be their best yet. The other big news is the official introduction of the newest Seedy Seed. I'll let the band give it to you all official like.... [...]

Above is a track from the new Vallenfyre album, a Fragile King . These guys are a UK death metal band with some serious doom metal tendencies. Their music is slow and lurching, but stays engaging and active with lots of vocals, changes, and solos. Not only that, but the vocals-despite being delivered in a usual growled style-are pretty understandable. And the reason for that is storytelling is really important to Vallenfyre-especially on the track above, "Seeds." It's tough to really hold back my emotions now that I know what this song is about. [...]
While we're not great ones for themed mixes on MM, Halloween is one of the exceptions we like to make. Here is a perfect mix for whatever ghoulish event you've got lined up today! Fifteen corking tunes, from the skewed new wave pop of XTC and off-kilter indie of the Mountain Goats to the trashy surf rock of The Cramps and from the folk-stomp of the Men They Couldn't Hang and the gothic drive of Ghost Dance to the pounding blues rock of the Scissormen and 22-20s . Enjoy. [...]
If you took the concept of "chamber pop" and adapted it in epic fashion for the big stage, you might end up with the music of Newfoundland's Hey Rosetta! . Originally conceived by songwriter/frontman Tim Baker as a way to put substantial meat on the bones of his solo songs, Hey Rosetta! has become one of the finest practitioners of intelligent, vigorous and sonically progressive "big picture" art/rock. With their 2008 album Into Your Lungs , Baker and band crafted a melodic masterwork of substantial heft and full-bodied dramatic power while providing a balance [...]
Has the Fleetwood Mac guitarist become so prolific we're starting to take him for granted? Most of Lindsey Buckingham's career has been a study in contradiction. He was the eccentric, anti-social studio rat who was fascinated by Talking Heads and the Clash. Yet he was the featured guitarist in one of the most mainstream, popular bands in the world. When Buckingham tried to inject his restlessness into Fleetwood Mac on Tusk , the result was a million-selling album that was deemed a commercial failure and brought on the wrath of...
Sounding reflective and emotionally raw, Lindsey Buckingham takes a bigger turn toward folk music on his latest solo effort. The album leads off with its strongest song, the title track, which is a gorgeous showcase for Buckingham's signature voice and virtuoso guitar style. Fast picking and a mournful wail blend together into a song as powerful as anything he's sung in the past.Though
(reedited and corrected from a 2004-01-06 article in "the Lance Monthly on the net") by Astro le Mocker On June 24, 2003, the Seeds came to Paris. Well, not exactly. We had one fourth of the original band; even Jan Savage, the original guitarist, had to quit after his shows in Spain 'cause he couldn't take it any more, getting drunk all night like he was still 20 and [...]

Enjoy. ♩ Body Language - Seeds of Sight
The late Sky Saxon and The Seeds stop by this now-forgotten sitcom entitled The Mothers-In-Law to deliver a particularly...errrmmm...."gas sy" performance. Tolerate the awful jokes, come for the enthusiastic miming of one of the best garage jams of the era, and stay for Saxon's brilliantly eccentric presence. The Young Ones' anarchic, hypnagogic alternate-reality probably makes the most sense as a televised platform for an obscure post-Pop Group project, but it's still pretty wild to see the lost dance classic "You're My Kind Of Climate" performed live (for real) on the tele. Neneh Cherry, who [...]
