i love stumbling upon amazing bands. Stage Kids self-titled debut album manages to combine many different styles of music. its hard to compare this band to other. just listen to stitches and tmr. one of my new favorite bands check them out. self titled by STAGE KIDS

"This is a band with a serious intellect, a sharp wit, and a knack for subversive hooks..." Django Django are four men who met at Edinburgh College of Art in 2008. Among many other British bands they can play guitar, bass, drums and sing. Given the current climate, this doesn't sound too appealing does it? However three years in the making after an initial hype frenzy over their debut single Storm they have managed to produce a self-titled debut album. On top of that, it happens to be one of the most [...]

Tweet Listen to a stream of Blondes debut self-titled album, due out February 7th on RVNG Intl. We haven't really featured Blondes on the site, so here's a short bio: Blondes is a collaboration between Sam Haar and Zach Steinman, who met in college and began making music together, eventually deciding to set up camp in Brooklyn after a bit in Berlin. The band put out an EP, titled "Touched" in 2010, [...]

They say necessity is the mother of invention, and this maxim would seem to be the reason for the existence of a band like Django Django, boldly going where few of their contemporaries would dare, making the kind of joyful music that fully deserves all the acclaim it gets. It's taken them two-and-a-half years for them to get to where they are now: on the cusp of releasing what is, hands-down, the most inventive British debut in quite some time. The music the quartet makes is not the kind that defies description, not 'weird' for its own sake, yet it [...]

Rating: 3.5 out of 5 stars Consisting of three ladies each established in their own field of the music industry, Seeker Lover Keeper fundamentally sounds like a good idea. Sarah Blasko, Holly Throsby and Sally Seltmann are currently some of the biggest Australian songwriters, previously writing songs for artists like Fiest , and touring with Lykke Li , The Tallest Man on Earth , Broken Social Scene and more. However, it takes more than apt songwriting and [...]

Elliott Smith, for years has captivated me. I seem to pick up a new album (or rather old album now) of his every time I stumble through my apartment. While moving some of my roommate's shit I have found 3 Elliott Smith cd's. Luckily. The curious packaging of his self-titled album and From a Basement on the Hill had me instantly, as I am a stickler for cool marketing ideas and cd package art. I popped the self-title in and I was taken to a place of despair and amazingly descriptive imager y, words cannot describe, literally, what his words [...]
![REVIEW: Old Soul - Old Soul [LP]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3969301_lg.jpg)
Contributed by Trevor Meyer Still swimming in nostalgia from the return trip to California, I took a few listens to Old Soul's self-titled 2011 release. The album features a nice collection of folk tunes and blends elements of soul and pastoral ambience. My favorite tracks are the waltzy, "People Are Talking" and the dynamic "Red & Gold," a track that draws parallels to older Coldplay and A.A. Bondy. Also, "Caught A Train" is a well-knit piece woven together by a fusion of soul, acoustic, [...]

This year I had much greater difficulty putting together a list of my favorite local albums than I did a non-local list. And that makes me proud. Not proud for myself, of course, but of this city and the wealth of musical talent it produces. There were more genuinely great local albums produced in 2011 than I can ever remember in my eight years living here, and narrowing them all down to a reasonable number proved to be a much more arduous task than I ever could have thought. And yet, here we are. The caveats and criteria [...]
i hope you like dogs. because this video is full of them. Real Estate is a pretty chill band, generally a overall surf-rock vibe. if you havent heard of them i would give them a listen. also check out "Pool Swimmers" from their freshman self titled album if you need more convincing.
The Hood Internet - The Hood Internet by MishkaNYC After years of making some of the Internet's most desirable mashups and remixes, the Hood Internet has dropped a new album via the good people at Mishka. Download it here , and scope reimagined versions of tracks from Ariel Pink, Foster the People, A Place to Bury Strangers, and more.

Don't you love when you run across an incredible pop tune that you just can't get out of your head? This new self-titled EP from The Proper Ornaments is absolutely incredible, and you can definitely find yourself getting carried away listening to it on repeat. For me, it reminds me of a smoother Beach Fossils , with the same sort of drum beat and jangle to the guitar lines, but the vocals definitely are a lot gentler. Those in love with all things jangling and twee will find themselves [...]
The new Red Horse album is a little front-loaded, but it still showcases some pretty intriguing noise and free improvisational sounds. WATCH THE REVIEW
ARCTIC DEATH by Arctic Death I caught this album getting mentioned in a thread on the Needle Drop forum , and I had to check it out. As it turns out, this thing is a nice, tight little indie rock record. I'm catching whiffs of the Walkmen here and there, but these guys have a messier, edgier aesthetic.

Sondre Lerche & Peter Wolf Crier/ Club Cafe / 11.23.2011 / 7:00 PM / $20 Words by Jim We had a mad rush of ticket giveaways over the past three months. Fall is prime time concert season, but all good things come to an end and we only have a few more contests in the next couple o' months. Today's giveaway of course isn't the last show we will promote, but you can bet things are going to die down as winter sets in and the holidays consume [...]
Turbowolf Turbowolf Hassle Records 11 November 2011 by Hugh Platt This album has been a long, long, long time coming. Having been evangelising Turbowolf since before Thrash Hits even existed, and it's only now, nearly four years down the line, that a full-length has emerged from the Bristol-based band. In that time, the 'wolf have [...]

El próximo 15 de noviembre Cascine sacará el EP debut del duo mitad sueco, mitad gringo, The Whendays. "Untru Love II" es el primer sencillo de ese debut y aquí está el video. ♩ The Whendays - Untru Love II

Ever since I was introduced to tracks like " SK8 " years ago, I've considered Seattle's the Spits to kinda be the modern unsung heroes of punk rock. Of course this album, like previous ones, is self-titled, and will probably features a number of songs that are just as crude, messy, and distorted as the one above, "My Life Sucks." Look for this new Spits album via In the Red on Nov. 1st. Here's a picture of the cover to avoid confusion with all of the group's other self-titled releases:
"Dreamin" is the lead single off Twerps' debut album out now via Underwater Peoples . Thanks to the miracle of Soundcloud, you can stream it below. It's 100% good jangly garage rock. While you're listening, be sure to check out "This Guy" for a female fronted variation of the band. Two parts great music and one part sarcastic destroy whoever "This Guy" would be referring to. It might be my favorite track on the album. Twerps by WeGetPress Facebook [...]

Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars For those of you just meeting Twerps , you'd be surprised at the evolution of their sound. When we first heard them via the folks at Chapter Music , they were a pretty basic lo-fi group, spinning tape loops and coming off a bit lackadaisical on songs like "Good Advice." On their self-titled record, you'll get a much more focused group bringing it all home. "Dreamin" begins Twerps , giving you cascading [...]
