The longtime Lady Gaga amigos of Semi Precious Weapons are opening for Mama Monster during her 02 Arena gigs in London this week, but the tour support goes both ways — last night Gaga appeared at SPW's headlining gig at the O2 Academy Islington 2, a 250-capacity club in London. Wearing a beehive, a bra and a punk-rock snarl, Billboard 's Artist Of The Year played drums for her buds til she decided it was time for some crowd-surfing! Lady Gaga is a rock star, an enigma, a cultural phenomenon and a chameleon. She's also an incredibly talented musician and performer, and her concerts are said to be spectacular, even life-changing. Semi Precious Weapons is on a roll. The band has spent the last nine months on tour with Lady Gaga and decided that rather than taking a break between the N.A. leg of the tour and the European part, they would hit the road to play their own 13-city "Dirty Showbiz" headlining tour. The new video from Semi Precious Weapons for "Magnetic Baby" apparently has been pulled from Youtube due to a "terms of use violation" (it's still up on Myspace, which we linked to above). We're not sure if that's because of it's NSFW nature, or maybe there's some other unknown reason just the build up publicity.

The expanded festival inspired us to run back and forth like lunatics.
Before tearing Chi-Town a new one with her killer headlining set at Lollapalooza , Lady Gaga spent her daytime hours being a regular music fan. Gaga stopped by the set of her friends (and Monster Ball openers) Semi Precious Weapons, but it wasn't long before she was taking the stage herself to play drums and sing backup. Almost as quickly as she arrived, Gaga gave the festgoers a real thrill when she swan dove into the crowd wearing little more than star pasties and fishnets.
