Like the late adventurer - who made a name for himself sailing across the Pacific in a self-made raft - Heyerdahl are charting their own territory with a unique sound worthy of a place in the Scandinavian indie music pantheon. Shadows is a free compilation from Marinate Media. The project features unknown and underground producers from across the country. Many of the artists featured are under 21, and admittedly, are new to me. From what I've heard so far, the music is upbeat, using Hip Hop as a jump off into other genres. Peep the mix below.
