In case you hadn't been paying close attention to the UK house scene recently, London-based producer Blawan has been stirring up quite a bit of noise in 2011, earlier on in the year with the retro-tinged hit "Getting Me Down" and more recently with "What You Do With What You Have", which quickly became a highlight among many DJ sets, including James Blake's popular BBC Essential Mix from last month. He also also recently released the Bohla EP on R&S Records, who enlisted him for this exclusive track for their new label compilation titled IOTDXI . [...]

ASAP Rocky's long-awaited debut LIVELOVEASAP was finally released for free download earlier this week, catching the ear of seemingly every blogger on the internet. The mixtape/album features production from Clams Casino on five tracks, including the recently leaked track "Bass", which is quickly coming one of my favorites of the year. The only other mixtape in recent memory I can compare LIVELOVEASAP to is Young Jeezy's classic, Trap Or Die , which ended up being the project that set off his career back in 2004. ASAP's collaborations with producer Clams Casino remind [...]

Tri Angle Records recently announced the release of their newest signee Ayshay's first EP WARN-U which was offered up for streaming this week by the label, along with a heavy duty drum and bass inspired remix from LA natives Nguzunguzu, who recently released their Timesup EP on Kingdom's Fade to Mind label. While the original version is a quite subtle, droney vocal-based track, the remix takes on a mind of its own, supplanting the hazy background of the original with an edgy, uptempo drum pattern that grabs the listener at the first second, and doesn't [...]

Tri Angle Records uploaded this new Balam Acab track titled "Apart" from his upcoming Wander/Wonder EP earlier in the week on Soundcloud. The song somehow went unnoticed for a few days, until the label posted a link on Twitter yesterday, after which "Apart" proceeded to enrapture the masses, just as the first leak from the EP "Oh, Why" did a few weeks back. Though there's admittedly been a surge in this type of warbled pop style in electronic music over the past year, Balam Acab was at the forefront last year putting his [...]

Shlohmo dropped this incredible new remix of Burial's "Shell of Light" on the We Did it Collective's website yesterday. When most people use the word "remix", it's usually to describe a minor-reworking, with maybe a tempo change and some alternate drum patterns added at the most. At least that's what the word has been redefined as in recent years. However, Shlohmo has absolutely reconstructed this track from the ground up, taking one simply loop from the end of the original and making it an entirely new track all its own, with some dense, atmospheric bass and percussion as well as [...]

A few weeks back, I posted "She Don't Want A Man" , the first leak from Curren$y's upcoming Def Jam LP Weekend At Burnie's, which featured some soulful production from up-and-comer Monsta Beatz. Monsta Beatz also produced this new track for Curren$y "This Is The Life", and it appears as if he'll be handling the majority of the production on this album. Seeing as Curren$y currently has one of the best ears for beats right now, and has a history of collaborating solely with people like Alchemist and Ski Beatz on previous projects, it'll be interesting [...]
![Tyler, The Creator – Yonkers [VIDEO].](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3193872_lg.jpg)
I'm one of the guys on the east coast who stayed up and watched Tyler tweet the countdown until the debut of his new video for his track "Yonkers" dropped. Odd Future . These guys are like...well, they're like nothing else, really. My man Thiz wrote about Tyler and his cohorts for Madbury a while back, and the article was being discussed at great length in the cozy dorming quarters of Ope and my man Tobi somewhere on University of Maryland's College Park campus. No joke, [...]
![A.B. The Pro – Crown Vic Music [Mixtape].](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3163005_lg.jpg)
If you know me, if you've been in my vehicle or been in my dorm room while I was in college, you'd know that my affinity for A.B. The Pro 's music is probably unrivaled. I have a lot of confidence in this SE representer's sound, and he's my favorite artist on DC's Studio 43 imprint. I felt like his mixtape he dropped back in '09 was criminally slept on as far as production and the artists featured. You can tell that he cares a lot about putting DC on the map, and he without [...]

THE BARE MIDRIFF!!!! Larry and Jerry mull ideas for the "Seinfeld" reunion show, including an assistant's attire and a religious symbol. Episode was epic, as usual. Goodness. Enjoy. ![Clipse – Back By Popular Demand [Popeyes] [feat. Cam'Ron].](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2192668_lg.jpg)
Some grimey, gutta, unradio-friendly Clipse is back. Exaaactly what he industry nerds and people who think they're in the industry (like little ol' me) have been waiting for over the last 6 months. Well, it's here. Finally. And Cam'Ron on a Pharrell beat!? We got that CD quality, and the dirty version. So know where you got that $#!t. Thanks, and enjoy. Til The Casket Drops, dropping soon. ![Wiz Khalifa – The Thrill [Empire of the Sun's "Walking On A Dream" Remix] + What He Shoulda Rapped Over!](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2065063_lg.jpg)
More new Wiz , this latest joint is off his forthcoming "Burn After Rollin" mixtape which drops so soon that you can taste it. It's a remix of "Walking on a Dream" by Australian electronica group Empire of the Sun (who got some love from the hip hop community after Jay-Z reached out and decided to throw them on the BP3 ). Honestly, I think if he wanted to remix any song on their album, he shoulda rocked that "Delta Bay". I hope he reads this and decides to take on that task, because [...]
![Curb Your Enthusiasm – Season 7, Episode 5 [HD Quality + Streaming].](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2062894_lg.jpg)
Good GRIEF. This episode was hilarious. It's called " Denise Handicap " and it's about Larry's encounters with some wheelchair-bound women. It's incredible. Enjoy. DOWNLOAD: Curb Your Enthusiasm - Season 7, Episode 5
![Dose – Where They Do That At [Remix] [feat. Rick Ross & Fabolous].](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2056798_lg.jpg)
I'm over at my man Aris ' crib, and he puts me onto the newest artist he's working with, Desert Storm Ent's Young Dose . I guess this joint came out a little while ago, but it goes pretty hard. Doesn't hurt that Fab and Ricky Ross lend verses to the joint, either. I can see this joint being a trunk rattling anthem in muscle cars and Range Rovers in states below the Mason Dixon line. Oh, and can we bring Fab's intro line back real quick? "I get [...]
![Wale – Bittersweet Life [feat. Colin Munroe].](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2033291_lg.jpg)
He dropped this via his twitter, unconverted . My ninja Omar hit me with the retweet, so I'm over here using my tools to turn .wav to .mp3. And I succeeded. Apparently, it's an old DJ Toomp beat, and it samples The Verve 's "Bittersweet Symphony" (you know, that track that made Cruel Intentions that much better? That joint.). Let's get it. ![Janelle Monae – Come Alive [War of the Roses].](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2033106_lg.jpg)
Janelle Monae is finally back with some new music, and it sounds like some experimental, vintage, rock/soul stuff. In other words, this song is something special. This Monday has been pretty good to the music industry. This joint was a special delivery by my homies from Cornerstone and the Kia Soul Collective tour that I hit up a few weeks ago in DC. This is also the first taste of new music from Monae's epic new album, set for an early 2010 release. [log on to DCtoBC.com to jam it] [...]

Pigeons and Planes just gave me an extremely, extremely trill joint from indie rock / pop / folklore band Vampire Weekend . The Columbia University grads sound like Paul Simon in 2010, and I'm all about that. This new joint is called "Horchata", and it's the first single from their upcoming album, Contra . I hope they named it after the video game, but I highly doubt it. I'm sitting here jamming while trying to figure out what the meaning of the song is. Those xylophones are something special though! I'm [...]

Oh boy . I'm no gossip column or anything, but this new song "Papers"(like, divorce papers) has Usher airing out his dirty laundry. The R&B superstar will address the end of his marriage on the first offering from his new album, set to debut Monday. It was penned by Sean Garrett, that big guy in that Mario video whose voice doesn't match his body. He's great though, no shots. I'm just saying, the man's voice doesn't match his body at all. I hope the new album is epic. Remember how Confessions had people in a frenzy? [...]
This is the first Gucci video that rocks. Plies verse is so trill and I'm happy they didn't try and swap that weak-willy OJ Da Juiceman verse out. This was the summer anthem in my book, don't care what anybody else says. Marcel threw me the oop for this one. Good looks, bruv.
Larry resists Jeff's suggestion to do a "Seinfeld" reunion special. Not much happens except that every main character from "Seinfeld" comes back, and Larry causes more commotion. The world loves to hate him, and this is why this show is brilliant. Entourage beat it this week in terms of quality, but we're talking about a season finale versus the third episode of a show that's 7 seasons deep. Curb reigns supreme. Only other show seeing is right now is "Modern Family", and I'll have more on that later. Enjoy.
