Born out of the grunge movement, festival founder and mastermind Perry Farrell put together a traveling music festival with some of his best friends. For the eighth time in a row, Lollapalooza returned to Chicago's Grant Park. While the festival has received its share of rain over the years (e.g. Billy Idol's mesmerizing sun shower set in 2005, The Gaslight Anthem's downpour debut in 2009, Best Coast's muddy power hour in 2011, to name a few), the grounds have never had to shut down . It still amazes me that I am going to Lollapalooza this year in Chicago. And now it's only a mere two weeks away. So it is my journalistic duty to attempt to encompass everything that I will be doing that weekend - from the food and drink, to the after parties, to the shows themselves. With three-day passes selling out yesterday, Lollapalooza released their "which artists on which day" rough schedule. The announcement (click photo for larger image) came with the release of single-day passes, which are available now for $95. Conflicts are inevitable (in life as well, but, forget about that), and it seems that Sunday presents the biggest challenge.
