It's been three plus days since Outside Lands came to an end and i've needed every minute of it to fully recover. This was my first legitimate music festival and it was a lot to take in. With that said, I would do it all over again this weekend if I could. I had so much fun last weekend, not even the total lack of sleep, the nightly struggles of finding my way home, the $9 beers, or the bird that shat in my eye Friday night will keep me [...]
In all my years as a festie, I've never been to a festival where gloves seemed like a perfectly sound idea. But San Francisco defies the logic of California (as comedian Marcus Monroe put it, "It's summer, so tell your fucking city that"), with cool days and downright cold evenings. Still, the City by the Bay plays one hell of a host. Coming from Boston, the honest politeness of the people here was shockingly apparent from the moment I stepped onto the BART. With sunny skies above, it was a warm welcome to the weekend ahead. Of course, [...]
Stereogum Over the weekend, thousands of fans flocked to this year's Outside Lands at Golden Gate Park. Overcast and chilly weather was offset by the fire from the Metallica pyrotechnics and warm vibes from festival attendees. Neil Young & Crazy Horse turned up their guitars to close out Friday, Metallica blew everyone away with their hellfire on Saturday, and Stevie Wonder dazzled with his barrage of hits to on Sunday. Some of the other highlights included Jack White's impromptu set in the midst of the trees, [...]

As one of the last music festivals to wrap up summer 2012, San Francisco's Outside Lands did a pretty good job. Held at Golden Gate Park, this past weekend saw the likes of Stevie Wonder, Neil Young & The Crazy Horse, Sigur Ros, Alabama Shakes, and many more. Check out the Outside Lands weekend in photos below.

Now in its fifth year, San Francisco's Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival took over Golden Gate Park this past weekend, with a diverse lineup that included everyone from long-established legends like Neil Young and Stevie Wonder to more emerging acts like Tanlines and Zola Jesus. Flavorpill sent photographer Scott Dudelson into the crowded park — which was packed with some 200,000 music fans — to cover the three-day festival for us; click through to see our favorite shots that he captured. Sigur Rós plays on Wednesday at Paramount As we recover from a beautiful (and hot!) weekend in Seattle, we have a whole crop of new and amazing shows to share with you this week. We start off slowly with some great small club shows at the Tractor with Phosphorescent and Mimicking Birds, and at the Sunset with Southeast Engine and Danielle Henry . Tuesday night, we recommend a great show at Neptune Theatre with Sharon Van Etten, Tennis, and Lemolo . [...]

John Mayer may be voicing up about being hurt by Taylor Swift 's song "Dear John", but at least the rocker can find comfort in the fact that his latest LP Born And Raised is #1 for a second week on the Billboard Top 200. The album, Mayer's fifth, sold 65,000 copies in its second week, thus giving it the dubious distinction of having the lowest amount of sales for a chart-topping record since February 2011, when Nicki Minaj 's Pink Friday [...]
Sorry guys about being late with this week's releases - a lot going on, much to listen to, and shows to go to, including BFD 2012 in Mt.
