Mentre continuiamo con il conto alla rovescia in attesa del prossimo 28 maggio, giorno in cui arriverà nei negozi il nuovo album dei Sigur Ros " Valtari ", Shaun Keaveny della BBC 6 ci regala un'anteprima dalle frequenze del suo show radiofonico. Io davvero non riesco a ricordare perché abbiamo iniziato a registrare questo disco, non so più che cosa stavamo cercando di fare allora. After a four year hiatus, Sigur Rós are returning with a new album entitled "Valtari" on May 29th. "Valtari" is a double LP and will be released on vinyl, CD and as a digital download. The first track, “Ekki Múkk,” is now streaming on the band’s website , but readers can stream it below. The band describes the album as "an avalanche in slow motion," a parallel track not taken after 20022s "( )," and it's manifest in the sound of "Ekki Múkk."  It's intricate, crystalline, beautiful and melancholy, but the thing about aesthetically imagining an untrodden parallel branching moment [...]

Since then, lead singer, Jón Þór Birgisson, better known as Jónsi, has kept himself pretty busy — first making an ambient record with his partner, Alex Somers, then embarking on his first solo album and tour, 2010's Go .
