I've been vibin this band for a while, and I listened to them at work today so I had to post it. The new album "Neck of the Woods" is absolutely incredible. Below is "Here We Are". Hopefully this band finally gets some credit they deserve.

When I first heard Silversun Pickups about two years ago, my first impression was, "Man, this vocalist has got some pipes!" And I also thought said vocalist was a woman because I neglected to look at their Wikipedia page. Silversun Pickups are just one of those bands that don't get enough credit. They've been dubbed a Smashing Pumpkins knockoff due to the similarities between the two (love of fuzzy guitar leads, unique vocals, initials, 3 guys 1 girl, anthem rocking tendencies, face melting bass lines, etc. - mostly things that NO other band has ever used, obviously) and written off because many people never dig deeper than their hook-heavy singles. But every time they pop an album out, Silversun Pickups gives the real listener ample reason to take in the album as a whole and enjoy the phenomenal [...]

Characterized by a ruthless alternation of tension and release, the album stays marvelously consistent while also incorporating varied sonic textures. Los Angeleno indie rockers Silversun Pickups are not the Smashing Pumpkins incarnate, and it sometimes feels like they'll be spending the rest of their careers gamely trying to prove it.
