So, we’re breaking tons of rules here. Our own rules that is. Fist up, we’re posting clips of tracks, which is a massive no-no for us. Generally, anything under 3m00s will go straight in our Inbox trash, regardless of who delivers it. Secondly, we’re using an ugly as hell Juno player. As a rule we’ll only use content delivery systems we can at least a little bit hack to make it fit the site’s aesthetics, the Juno widget is an ugly beast that’s you can’t even resize, which really messes with our 500px format. However, this release is a) amazing [...]

Enjoy! Latest gem from Brit duo Simian Mobile Disco aka SMD , in a very deep / Chicago house style. Taken from their latest album [...]
Still love Simian Mobile Disco , despite it not being 2007 anymore, the new stuff is really underrated. Here’s the new video for ‘Your Love Ain’t Fair’ A hypnotic tune with a slight Garage vibe and an equally hypnotic video for light going on and off, directed by Laurence Stephens. ‘Your Love Ain’t Fair’ is out now. Three years after their critically-acclaimed sophomore album Temporary Pleasure , which featured high-profile vocal collaborations from Gruff Rhys, Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip, Beth Ditto and Yeasayer ’s Chris Keating, UK-based duo Simian Mobile Disco are back with a new album, Unpatterns , released on May 14th via Wichita Recordings. Far from recycling old recipes, James Ford and Jas Shaw decided to embark on a radically different dance journey, avoiding celeb guest vocals and concentrating on minimal beats and classic electronica. [...]
This album could be classified as a come down after a large night, not something to get to up in arms about.

Three years after their sophomore album Temporary Pleasure , legendary British dance duo Simian Mobile Disco are finally sharing a new track! "Seraphim" is the first song taken off their forthcoming album, Unpatterns , and it is now streaming on their SoundCloud. "Seraphim" is a more restrained and melow than SMD's previous material, but if you give it a good listen and let it sink in for a minute or two, you will probably end up loving it! The single is out on April 9th and [...]
I still have Simian Mobile Disco to thank for one of the best night out I have had in the last ten years and while their last album didn’t grab me as much as their début I still follow their career with interest. ‘Seraphim’ is the first single from the duo’s forthcoming album ‘Unpatterns’ and is an interesting peice of electronic music after my own heart. It’s a deep track that although strictly a House track contains a lot of Trip-House and Bristol Beat DNA, especially in it’s vocals and it’s dubby use of spacious, buzzing [...]

I was reintroduced to this gem by Simian Mobile Disco during the credits of the extremely overrated and wildly disappointing Electric Daisy Carnival Experience film, but hearing this song was perhaps the best part of that particular "experience". SMD's album "Attack Decay Sustain Release" was something that truly pushed me over the edge and was a catalyst in creating my dance music obsession. 'Hustler' was easily my favorite cut from that album (others include, ' Sleep Deprivation ', ' It's The Beat ' and I can't forget 'I Believe' because it has the [...]

Tweet Little is known about Ronald Kaufman. He's from Los Angeles. He spent time in Florida only to move back to LA. He writes electronic pop songs under the name KAUF. He's pretty darn good. With a vibe reminiscent of TBWTTIHS faves, Simian Mobile Disco, KAUF's debut single Relocate is one that deserves a wider audience. I'm definitely loving the groove in this track especially the bass line. This one would find a nice home in the clubs in my opinion. Give it up for the mystery man and maybe a bit of publicity [...]

Well, that's at least what they should have called HARD Weekend. It seems like Gary Richards (I refuse to use his DJ name), has heard the call from Boys Noize loud and clear for all DJs far and wide to get into the Techno. And that was most certainly the theme of the night, as EVERY DJ dropped a serious amount Techno / Tech House. That said, when the DID drop housier stuff, the crowd responded better as a whole, including myself. While the Techno is awesome, it didn't translate as well to this smaller venue, [...]

This post is a "QuickPick". QuickPicks are my attempt at getting all of the music that's sent to me that I like (or just music I like but have no words for because it's so awesome), out into the dubya dots. Any time I get sent music that I like I "star" it in Gmail and then go back and listen to it a day later. If it's still as good as it was a day before then it goes up on the site, but sometimes I get backlogged and can't get through writing [...]
