Or maybe the more faint of heart should think of it as Rain of Ketchup ... One of the things you find out quickly when starting out as a music blogger is that there is intense competition to be the first to break some new group, or be the first to feature the latest album by an already broken but still-considered-hip group. And you can either bow to the pressure and spend all your free time keeping up with the latest releases - and believe me, it takes either a lot [...]
Sleigh Bells - “Comeback Kid (live from Terminal 5, 2/17/12)” Literally never not loving these guys.

While they are in the country for the annual Big Day Out Festival , Derek Miller and Alexis Krauss, who are known to the majority of people as the New York duo SLEIGH BELLS , have kindly decided to play a couple of sideshows for us in Sydney and Melbourne. It’s hard to believe that just over four years ago, the two met in a park and were listening to Miller’s demos. These days you will find them at some of the world’s biggest festivals, performing what is known to some people [...]

In the current era of music in western civilization, promotion and momentum has retired from its usual location of print media and radio, opting instead for a completely digital method. This method has been used by artists which include, but are certainly not limited to The Vaccines , Arctic Monkeys , Alabama Shakes , Lana Del Rey , and Tyler the Creator , all successfully making their mark on the indiesphere by means of the internet without the release of a label-backed debut album. In some cases, this method has turned out to [...]

To tell every one the honest truth I had been putting off listening to the new album by Sleigh Bells . This is because of my fear that I wouldn't like the new album upon the first listen. With already getting a taste of the first 3 singles off of the record before listening to the entirety of the album I had mixed reviews. Upon first listen I forgot why I was scared to listen and wondered why I was so scared? Although, I recommend proceeding with caution and if at first you do not like the new album [...]

Sleigh Bells' latest album features a high-fidelity recording quality that makes its sound much more palatable than the music on the duo's debut album, Treats. But beyond that, the band hasn't changed its tune all that much. WATCH THE REVIEW
Sleigh Bells - “Comeback Kid (live on “Saturday Night Live”)”

The Brooklyn duo, Sleigh Bells played both 'Comeback Kid' and 'End Of The Line' on Saturday Night Live last night. Both songs will appear on their sophomore album, Reign Of Terror , which is due out this Tuesday via Mom+Pop. You can stream the album a few days early over at The New York Times . Reign of Terror Tracklist: 01. True Shred Guitar 02. Born to Lose 03. Crush 04. End of the Line 05. Leader of the Pack [...]
Haters gonna hate, I suppose. If this video of Sleigh Bells performing on SNL isn't pulled off YouTube quickly, expect to see the comments section flooded with "What is this noise? The girl can't sing in key!" comments (those comments are already appearing for the "Comeback Kid" official video). The more I hear the song, the more I like it but am still not completely sold on Sleigh Bells.

The SLEIGH BELLS took to the SNL HQs last PM to perform a coupla mp3s, I suspect mosta America didn't quite get it, and tbh I also kinda don't too. One thang this American noise-popping duo does give me is revived hope that I too might have a music career and be on Saturday Night Live one day.

The crowd screaming in anticipation of Alexis Krauss’ candy pop voice and Derek Miller’s bleeding guitar start off Sleigh Bells’ Reign of Terror . It’s an apt metaphor for the excitement that this band’s new album is generating. Sleigh Bells roared into the blogosphere in late 2009 and became critic darlings with 2010’s Treats , an audial assault that took the entire music industry by storm. After such success, the task thus became creating a consistent yet evolved sound that recaptures the ethos of Sleigh Bells. While the band could have delivered another [...]

Photo by Philip Cosores Sleigh Bells were the musical guest on Saturday Night Live this evening, which is awesome no matter what way you slice it. Check out video of their performance below, playing "Comeback Kid" and "End Of The Line" via The Audio Perv . Also, look for the new Sleigh Bells album, Reign Of Terror , out on Tuesday via Mom+Pop Records.

"They've been careful not to stray from the classic formula, but make enough of a creative step to keep things interesting..." Sleigh Bells | Reign of Terror Brooklyn duo, Alexis Krauss and Derek Miller (aka Sleigh Bells), earned unexpected buzz for their 2010 debut Treats . They now return with their latest album Reign of Terror promising to be equallyas noisy and vivacious as its predecessor, all the while spouting hype-inducing soundbites like ‘’the sonic equivalent of a beautiful shotgun to the head’ , making it concrete clear that they [...]

The second single off of the new Sleigh Bells album, Reign of Terror , has been released for viewing over at reignofterror.tv . This has happened not a moment too soon since I can not or choose not to remember the name of the first single. "Comeback Kid" has gotten me, once again, excited for the sophomore album by the popular Brooklyn, New York duo. After hearing the first single I was thinking, "Oh no, another follow-up failure to an unprecedented debut album." Major Disappointment of 2011: Sleigh Bells cancelling Lollapalooza. [...]

Sleigh Bells are back- are you listening? With a brand new, sophomore album single that’s as good as the abrasively catchy “Comeback Kid,” you should be. The Brooklyn duo’s 2010 debut LP, Treats, instantly crowned them with the title of major buzz band; it’s a tough act to follow for the soon-to-be released Reign of Terror. If “Comeback Kid” is any indication, though, Derek Miller and Alexis Krauss are sticking to what they do best: hardcore, floor-shaking beats, riffs that pulse like machine guns, and an energetic, badass attitude all juxtaposed with the high, delicate innocence of Krauss’ singing voice.
