Brooklyn aggro-popsters Sleigh Bells have been busy touring their latest album "Reign of Terror" for a good 4 months now but today, they took a short break to release a new video, remix, and announce more tour dates. Phewww...don't wear yourselves out Sleigh Bells ! Mad Decent ringleader and recent Sleigh Bells tour-mate Diplo is responsible for the meteoric remix of "Demons". Dip re-works the cacophonous single into a trap-house banger while accentuating Alexis Krauss' spiky vocals. Sleigh Bells guitarist Derek Miller is responsible for the [...]

Another year has passed in the blink of an eye and already we are rushing head long into 2011. Whilst 2010 is unlikely to be considered a vintage year in musical history there were certainly some stand out moments and we hope to capture a few of those in our 'Top 30 Albums of 2010'. The following list has been compiled and verified by the WeAreBlahBlahBlah writing team. Blah Blah Blah - Top 30 Albums of 2010 30. We Have Band - We [...]

While we're all inundated with lists celebrating the top 10 albums of the year, I thought loyal RFC readers might enjoy a Cliff's Notes version that cuts to the chase. Below are, in my opinion, the best tracks of 2010. This was a particularly difficult challenge, and could have easily been the top 50 tracks of the year, but there is some gratification in whittling it down this far. Happy Holidays to everyone who has read and supported RFC in 2010, you are appreciated and loved. A particularly huge bag of kisses goes out to every writer, photographer, and [...]

Here come the lists! We've already had Mark covering his best singles and albums, and now we come to videos. When I think of a great video, I think of something not only visually arresting, but images that are inextricably tied to the song itself. Every time you hear that song after seeing the video, your mind automatically queues it up in the Netflix of your brain. That's my criterion for a good video; your mileage may vary. Cosmo Jarvis - Gay Pirates I normally find literal interpretations of song lyrics in a [...]
Filed under: The Hit List Some tracks on our list of the best songs of 2010 were so gorgeous they gave us goose bumps; others rocked our freaking faces off. Some left us blissed out or melancholy, while others propelled us onto the dance floor. The common thread? Each speaks to the kaleidoscopic nature of the musical landscape today, and we're embracing the beautiful chaos with [...]

⊗ Anspieltipp: The Suburbs [...]

There were too many to choose from, but I narrowed it down to 50. There's a lot of different kinds of music here, but it still all comes together to recap my favorite songs from a very fulfilling year. Stay tuned for Bear Schwartz's favorites later this week. Click that "Read More" link to listen to A LOT of tunes. Here's looking to 2011... 50. Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr.- "Vocal Chords" 49. Underworld- "Moon In Water" [...]
The end of the 2010 is approaching and I, like most self-respecting music bloggers, am scrambling to put together my year-end lists. I'm kicking it off this year with one of my favorite lists to make, the best music videos of the year. The quality of music videos this year has been outstanding, I almost feel like I've seen more great videos in 2010 then in the last three years combined, and that made it extremely difficult to narrow this list down to 25 (there's an extended Honorable Mention section to make up for it). Whether it's the work of [...]
Not sure if it's official but the below Sleigh Bells' video is pretty neat, there's also dog grooming and epicness from Yuck, bad t-shirts from Bonnie Prince Billy and Hot Chip, a rotoscoped Nancy Wang by Eoghan Kidney on Shit Robot's latest offering, an overload of female company for Of Montreal and friends with Cap Pas Cap. Sleigh Bells - 'Riot Rhythms' Yuck - 'Rubber' Hot Chip - 'I Feel Better' (Bonnie Prince Billy [...]

You'll see a lot of things in Asheville, NC. There's the mountains, for one. Gorgeous, inviting rolling hills of all colors, surrounding the city in all its natural glory. It's awe-inspiring, to use a cliche. The nearby Blue Ridge Parkway, with its stone-cut tunnels and historic bridges, begs to be driven down, if not for a few hours then definitely for 30 minutes. Then there's the city's architecture. Established in 1784, and given its name by Governor Samuel Ashe, the city boasts its fair share of structural beauties. When the sun peaks during the day, it's hard to dismiss the [...]

Check out my photos of LCD Soundsystem at the Hollywood Bowl over at Stereogum .

It would be difficult to say that LCD Soundsystem's performance on Friday night was the best live set I have ever seen, but I honestly can't think of one better. Granted, it was my first experience with James Murphy and his band of enthusiastic teammates, so maybe this is just how LCD Soundsystem always is. But when Murphy addressed the 17,000+ fans that sold out the Hollywood Bowl (their last time in town was at the 4,000 capacity Palladium), even he knew this was special: "This is pretty much the coolest thing that any of us [...]

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News LCD Soundsystem 's James Murphy seemed a bit self-conscious during the band's Austin City Limits set, as he explained to the crowd after a rousing version of 'Drunk Girls' that they didn't mean to wear sunglasses onstage, a nod to any perception that he and his bandmates were too cool for school. "There's just this midsized star right over there," he said pointing at the sun, which was staring the band [...]
This video is slightly unrelated. I just didn't have a picture to go with this post/wanted to make you all jealous. We were standing right underneath the Commerce Bank sign. Last weekend, my co-worker/friend Dan and I ventured down to Columbia, Missouri to catch the Flaming Lips. It's interesting that Dan decided to join me, since he had never actually heard the Flaming Lips, doesn't go to concerts, and is not really interested in music. I think his main reason for wanting to tag along was to hang out with some people we knew down there. [...]
