The whole Snoop Lion thing makes me chuckle. In case you missed it, Snoop transformed from a Dogg to a Lion earlier this year. Why? Apparently it was his calling to reinvent himself as a reggae artist. Oh, and something about wanting to make music that his " kids and grandparents can listen to ." Trust, folks, Snoop Dogg knows exactly what he is doing with his Snoop Lion project. First of all, he has Diplo and Major Lazer behind him, crafting some incredibly deep dub beats for him to lace. Furthermore, he brings on folks like Angela Hunte to make for rather catchy hooks, leaving very little for Snoop to actually do himself. While this is by no means progressive reggae, it is promoting good vibes, and quite frankly, a rather fun song to sing along to.
