I just got a great review in one of Sweden's bigges morning papers, and the rest of the world is not late on following the trend. TOANWTS is appointed the prestigious title of " Album of the Month " on renowned music blog Bluesbunny " Perhaps her most interesting artistic choice however is the sound of the album this time around. Country flavoured sonic touches abound on many of the songs thus giving the album an underlying focus and, [...]

Just had to share some of these great fan reviews I've received for the new album. After all the real critics are the listeners: Sofia Talvik's mastery of the acoustic has never been more evident than in her latest album - The Owls Are Not What They Seem. Her fifth album, in which Sofia has 'gone back to basics' is a stunning display of her vocal prowess and lyrical talent... unpretentious, yet powerfully moving. I have had TOANWTS for only a few days now, [...]
" Talvik's gentle acoustic songs make up for any loss of sonic power and rhythmic force with a focus on the sweetly nuanced basics: endearing melodies and tasteful arrangements" Direct Current Music blog has written a review of my new album "The Owls Are Not What They Seem". Read it all here !
After a moving to an increasingly larger production scope on her last two projects, Swedish songwriter Sofia Talvik says she went "back to basics" on her overtly pretty but modest and unpretentious fifth album The Owls Are Not What They Seem , self-released digitally in the U.S. this week. Recorded mostly at her home, Talvik's gentle acoustic songs make up for any loss of sonic power and rhythmic force with a focus on the sweetly nuanced basics: endearing melodies, tasteful arrangements around [...]

Interview with me on Radio, Live Transmission Radio, Live Transmission the main source of news for Savannah College Students just posted a little interview with me on their site. Read it here!
Here's a little list of weird thing that happen when you are full timing in an RV: 1. You start looking for power outlets everywhere you go and sometimes go through great lengths to get to them 2. You learn how to use a minimal amount of toilet paper 3. You start "pre-washing" your dishes with paper towels 4. You don't think it's weird that you haven't had a proper shower in three days 5. You don't change clothes because you care what people at the office will think but because you wore them [...]

Listening to her music, an otherworldly edge, surprising twists and powerful, haunting vocals make her much more than just another pretty folk-pop-acoustic performer. In other words, in Scandinavian music terms that Americans can understand, she's no ABBA retread and not quite the enigmatic eccentric of Bjork , but carving her own unique and welcome niche in the music world. Atlanta Retro writes about my music, my upcoming show at the Drunken Unicorn [...]

So who'd have thought it would be so much work to tour and book new gigs at once? I need an intern - badly! (please email me if you want to apply ) So anyway, there's several ways of finding new gigs and I really like the house concert setting as people are really there to listen to your music, and so I thought I should be part of Slowbizz.com which is a global house concert network. But to be accepted I need the support of 100 of my fans. So I'm reaching out to you [...]

I had a great time playing at the Cock'n Bull last night. It felt like a mini festival as we were 4 bands playing, had a bonfire going and the stage was outside in a little party tent. I met some really cool people and the other bands were great too. As if it's not enough with this blog, Facebook and everything I've decided to start yet another blog to keep up during this tour. It's called "My morning view" and I'm posting a picture from where I wake up every day. As we're traveling in the RV, [...]
