• Ladyhawke - BLACK WHITE BLUE

With his hypnotic, trudge-through-the-mud mixes, L.A. producer Shlohmo creates a sonic experience that feels utterly visceral. Like on "The Way U Do"-the smooth synths combined with the grit and grime of an old factory makes a listener feel stuck somewhere between a bad drug trip and a good one. It's the tempo of this track, always lagging behind as if it's attempting to complete the race with weights attached to its feet. But Shlohmo never settles into one generic nook, and it's these constant changes of scenery that keeps "The Way U Do" completely engrossing for all 5+ minutes. [...]

The two weed smoking power-houses link up for Domo Genesis's latest track "Ground Up". Cardo produced and hella chill, the track features a somewhat corny Wiz chorus, but the rapper I like to describe as iffy shows up with an pretty dope verse to compliment Domo's. Ro Ransom will be dropping his Ransomnia soon and has been dropping more and more music as of late. This latest one is a freestyle over Missy Elliot's "Hot Boyz" and is super clean. Blessed are the bands that still release real singles, thereby keeping alive the dying art of the B-side whilst simultaneously driving completists like myself batty. Los Angelinos Batwings Catwings paraded out the noisegasmic Radio single a while back, and now they're handing over the flipside simply as a way of giving back to fans. Early Exit is a synth-heavy neo-new wave workout that presses your nostalgia buttons without turning a cold shoulder to the band's signature serrated attack. • Batwings Catwings - Early Exit

Beach Fossils are kind of surf-popists minus the beach. The Brooklyn based band is all bleached-clean guitar and tin-can vocals, but somehow they sound more like Real Estate than any other contemporary acts. "Lessons" is off the B-side of their upcoming 7-inch, and it could be an easy song to overlook simply because of the fact that it fits a bit too snuggly into the current low-fi, indie-rock landscape. But, once you get past just how stock Beach Fossils can sound, what you see is a hint of the darkness and discontent that colors their sound.

This is the first set of visuals in a series of leaks off of the forthcoming Coldplay Sessions in which the Austin-native will flip 14 Coldplay tracks and make them his own. "Paradise" is a flip of the Colplay track that shares the same name and video depicts M.i overlooking what I assume is Austin, TX. I was a fan of his Jack Johnson Sessions and I was very impressed when I found out M.i engineers his own tracks. The tape is set to drop sometime in the near future. Peep the video below.
