Its a very transparent and abstract interpretation from Rimar's previous works and almost has no reason or rhyme of focus. Caught this song on the Fader , and I'm completely smitten with it. It's from an anonymous California-based duo named Rhye. They've currently got a 123 out on Innovative Leisure for the track streaming above. "Open" has a light, electronic groove that reminds me of the synth-heavy art pop of the 80s. In my opinion this mash-up is one of the best I've heard in awhile. Sure, it's pretty simple, but my gosh does it make Kanye West's "Gold Digger" soulful. I might even venture to say that this re-application of the Chiddy Bang instrumental for "Ray Charles" is better than it's original use. Sorry, Chiddy Bang... MashMike kicked some ass with this one.
