South Banks

South Banks South Banks is an alternative hip-hop band from New Jersey in the USA. The quartet of  Vinny Zerbo (drums),  Louis King (Vocal),  Chris Mitchell (Bass) and  Alex Hayes (Guitar) are aiming to place a different steer. South Banks I suddenly find myself engaged with a space from which I naturally recoil from. The fusion of hip-hop with instruments is a genuine and warm sound and with the instruments suddenly takes on a whole new perspective. Sure the [...]

Christy Moore – Live At South Bank, London

The question you tend to ask yourself when observing a Christy Moore gig is: how many more years will the man continue to revel in the live arena? To watch Moore perform is to witness a troubadour who has been on the road for nearly half a century. Respectably upholding the great tradition of gifted balladeers that came before him such as Woody Guthrie, Pete Seeger, and Luke Kelly, Moore continues to produce a distinctive voice that gesticulates to a collective consciousness: it speaks to the soul, to posterity, to the living, and the [...]

HMCMB :: Buildings

Buildings  -  Nothing
It was early one morning. 5 hours sleep. A messy night's repurcussions making themselves known. The last thing I wanted to do was head to London on the train before 8:30am to roam around in the rain lugging filming gear behind me. A sentiment only added to by being severely 'ill' outside a Shoreham taxi rank. Lucky then that upon arrival to Waterloo station from Victoria and met the guys from Buildings that it was all made worthwhile. Being the gents they are they'd even already done some scouting around. Good job too, as I certainly didn't feel [...]

HMCMB Sessions :: Krakatoa

Krakatoa - Eat Your Words
We met Krakatoa, or 3/5ths of them at least, at Waterloo station. We had been in London that morning filming another set of acoustic sessions with Buildings, they'll be released in the coming days. The weather that morning had left rather a lot to be desired, but by the time the afernoon came around the clouds had cleared and glorious sunshine was the order of the afternoon. We headed for a walk along Southbank, which was packed with tourists and street perfomers and sellers.  One of whom, a man dressed as a giant subway, took a fair bit [...]

Tindersticks Perform Film Soundtracks on London's Southbank

14803066.mov.mp4
Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , Exclusive Marc Broussely, Redferns Think of Tindersticks ' forlorn orchestral pop and you may well first consider Stuart Staples' infamously lugubrious vocals, once compared to comedian Vic Reeves' club singer. On Tuesday, April 26, though, he sang only three numbers, yet still got a rousing reception. The occasion was a performance that focused on another strand to the Nottingham-formed band's career -- since 1996 they [...]
