Mumbai alt rock band Split have completed work on their debut album Counting Perfume (they announced the name of the album a couple of months ago, more details here ). The rockers have not released any new material since their EP, P is for Pig in 2010. Even though they were formed in 2001, this is Split's first album. Harley Rock Riders wrapped up season two of the nationwide tour in October 2011, as New Delhi grunge band Half Step Down (pictured) played alongside Parikrama , The Circus and Split at the Hamsadhwani Theatre in New Delhi ( pictures from the gig here ). Hospital Garden There's nothing more exciting than watching a band blossom throughout the years. Post-rock with vocals, what a touchy, touchy subject. I, in my lifetime, have never heard truly bad instrumental post-rock, only mediocre. Where the mediocre turns to bad is the addition of vocals, a choice forgone by most post-rock bands; it's extremely hard to make work without ruining the beauty and atmosphere created by the instruments, and one bad voice or clash could send a good song spiraling (like adding a a spice to a dish that could throw the whole flavor balance off). A track from a new split consisting of Steve Moore and Majure. Of course, both of these musicians make up the progressive synth rock duo Zombi. It just so happens that they are working separately for this split album. From the first track to drop from this thing, "Enchanced Humanoid," you can probably expect the usual Tangerine Dream-influenced synth progressions throughout the split. For hardcore fans, I'm sure that'll be a good thing. Enjoy "Enchanced Humanoid" via the SoundCloud stream above, and expect this split to drop on Temporary Residence Ltd. in 2012.

Mumbai alt-rockers Split recently announced the title of their soon-to-be-released debut album. The band made the announcement at their performance at Independence Rock XXVI .
