In celebration of Gwen Stefani's solo career ending, we are salvaging the only good single that came out of that stint that started strong and ended very weakly. To us, "Cool" is the epitome if her solo efforts. Lovely, not so noisy and smooth. Filed under: Beats , Clip , Oldie , Yankee Panky Tagged: Clip , cool , gwen , old , stefani

There was a discussion I found myself in a year or two ago, in which I offered the opinion that if Lady Gaga kept up her output for four more albums, she would find herself an equal of Madonna. That this has been somewhat of an ambition for Miss Germanotta is no secret: she's openly expressed admiration for the 802s pop queen, and in the title track of her latest album, Born This Way , one hears enough of "Express Yourself" to question how much longer Gaga is capable of being truly original. I understand how it's almost impossible [...]

Don't hate me, just let the fans lead on this one, because that's what YouTellConcerts is all about. Plus, I have never been big on Garth Brooks. That said, when Garth Brooks comes to Nashville and sells out nine shows as part of a flood benefit, you can't just "not go." I decided to hit up Thursday night's 10pm (12/16) show. Yes, he pulled a double-shift. My company holiday dinner had just finished at a restaurant across the street from the arena as the 7pm crowd spilled into the street. I had an hour or so to kill [...]

As you might have noticed we're all busy bees lately. Whether it's studying (me), working (Gisèle) or writing a thesis (Phara) we haven't got a lot of time to blog at the moment. So I thought I'd show you 2 posts I spotted on blogs that I really liked. Here we go! 1. „Hank Schmidt in der Beek stands in the manner of a plein air painter surrounded by mountain scenery and paints the pattern of his shirt on canvas." This is just absolutely genius. Found through [...]

I'm not sure why this hasn't leaked before, but here's Lady GaGa when she was just Stefani Germanotta. GaGa was the lead singer of a self- titled alternative pop band that recorded an EP called Red and Blue . Aside from Germanotta's raw vocal talent, the work isn't exceptional . The 5 track EP varies stylistically: it features two piano ballads ("Wish You Were Here","No Floods"), two alternative pop ballads ("Words", "Red and Blue"), and a chick rock track ("Something Crazy"). I see why this career path didn't really pan out for Germanotta. These songs sound more like [...]

They're set to go on a tour and then record an album. Good thing Gwen Stefani realized she can't do it by herself.
