J.J. Abrams‘ Bad Robot is in negotiations for the rights to Stephen King‘s bestselling 2011 novel 11/22/63. The deal is being done through Warner Bros TV. I guess you can teach an old dog new tricks. Hollywood is on a roll with Stephen King’s remakes, first Carrie, a prequel to the Shining, a possible Pet Sematary redo and now Cujo... The Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara is in talks to write The Overlook Hotel, which will serve as a prequel to Stanley Kubrick's film The Shining based on the Stephen King novel. No official word about what the plot of this prequel will be, but the focus could fall on the character of Delbert Grady, played by Philip Stone in the 1980 film, who served as the caretaker of the hotel prior to Jack Nicholson's Jack Torrance. The project is being developed by Warner Bros. to be produced by Mythology Entertainment’s Bradley Fischer, James Vanderbilt and Laeta Kalogridis.

A new Rosanne Cash track would be exciting all by itself. But make it a collaboration with Stephen King, John Mellencamp and T Bone Burnett, and it becomes something altogether more impressive. You Don't Know Me, premiering today at USA Today, is Cash's contribution to the all-star recording of Ghost Brothers of Darkland County , a musical featuring libretto by King, music and lyrics by Mellencamp and production from Burnett. Sony's Screen Gems has brought online the full trailer for their upcoming Carrie. Directed by Kimberly Peirce (Boys Don't Cry, Stop-Loss), the film stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Judy Greer, Portia Doubleday, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde, Ansel Elgort and Julianne Moore.
